Now that the EW episode is over (hopefully for good), it's good to see SN taking care of its European network: resuming BRS and Hanover, more flights to BHX and possibly some new destinations as well. That's the way to (carefully!) go in order to improve profitability.
And, btw, any financial/traffic figures released recently?

The June and H1 traffic figures for the LH Group were published today. Brussels Airlines is still considered as part of the Eurowings Group and thus not allowed to publish its own traffic figures

I know this is off-topic, but I'm only answering a question asked in this topic.

SN and EW even still share a joint management team (ad-interim), there are other more urgent priorities than the seperate reporting of traffic figures...

Most probably; so let's give them some time to get back on their feet. But SN's management will have to take back control of their business in the not too distant future...

This information comes from all the time changes in my GDS, someone will be able to explain it more in detail, but:

Ethiopian will fly non-stop to Brussels on all connections starting November 2019, no more technical stops in Vienna.
Daily (except Tuesday) till 16 December
Fully daily from 17 December onwards

The service continues on to Manchester on most days.

An article in check-in.dk Icelandair will increase capacity to Europe in the winter seasons 19/20.

Brussels is one of the most noticeable increases together with Copenhagen, Dublin and Berlin. I think there is an implied measurement of 3% but I am not sure if in this article it relates just to CPH or all the aforementioned airports.

No 737Max aircraft until next year planned.

Hi,

The 3% of increase in seats is between November and December, but this is the general increase.

Indeed, Brussels is one of the only 4 destinations where the will fly more

Like CDG, we have 2 flights a day to Dallas, with American Airlines. They have closed Boston, and reduced services to JFK, from 2 to 1 flight a day, when they merge with US Airways. In summer American Airlines operates up to 7 flights a day, at CDG, while CDG is a SkyTeam hub.

United Airlines operates up to 5 flights a day at CDG, in summer. They have closed Houston CDG service, after the merge with Continental Airlines.

But they are quite far away, from Delta Airlines, which operates over 10 flights a day at Cdg.

I guess it's about the market, from these cities. From Amsterdam and Paris Cdg, you have also airlines that operates only with the point to point trafic, to and from USA. So traffic to USA is big.

Amsterdam: Norwegian and TUI Ned
Cdg: XL, Norwegian

But unbelievable that they can go to double daily on AMS while other airlines cannot.

They all the time increase more at AMS like previously.

From AMS there is even more competition

Really pity....

It's surprising indeed. After LHR and JV hubs AMS is their biggest intercontinental destination while AA is quite small at AMS.

After Continental / United Merge, United Airlines cut seveal routes to Asia and Europe, from Houston. If you see stats of Houston Airport, traffic didn't really increase since 2012. A year a growth, the year after a big decreased. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Bu ... al_Airport

United Airlines has expanded t San Fransico and Chicago hubs. If you see, both airports have gained many new routes to Europe and Asia.

AMS-ORD: 9hrs
ORD-DEN: 2h00

After a 9hrs flight, to Chicago, it will take you a little bit over 2hrs to reach, your destination, it's probably better via EWR, where it will take you 4h30 to reach Denver, after a 8h30 flight, from Amsterdam. Same thing, if you fly from USA to Amsterdam. 2hrs to reach Chicago, from Denver. If you can reduce transit time and the flight time, on some parts of routing, it's a good thing.

Same thing with San Fransico. The UA hub at SFO, provides lots connecting on the USA West Coast, from Alaska, to California, Hawaï, in Arizona, and Mexico. You arrive from Europe, after a 11hrs flight, then you fly to Seattle (only 2hrs). Via New York, from Europe (7hrs-8hrs of flight), then from EWR, it takes you 5h to reach Seattle.

With the merger between USA carriers, carriers were able to add more hubs (UA (Houston, Newark), DL (Detroit, Minneapolis) and AA (Philadelphia, Charlotte,...)) or expand their current hub. The goal is to have the highest numbers of passengers, using their hubs. Why not to use the full capacity of Chicago or San Fransisco, for UA ? There are not only New York or Washington in USA.
