Iberia information to passengers

Please be advised that due to the strike of security personnel at Madrid airport, serious delays in security control are to be expect.

For this reason, and in order to board your flight with peace of mind, we recommend that you get your boarding pass at iberia.com, arrive at the airport earlier and go to your boarding area as soon as possible.

Thank you very much and have a good trip.
Iberia.

Public transport strike 28 May: Do not travel to Schiphol if it is not strictly necessary

Please do not travel to or from Schiphol on Tuesday 28 May if it is not strictly necessary. Due to the national public transport strike no buses and trains will be running in the Netherlands.

We expect high congestion on the roads to and from the airport.

There is very limited train traffic between Schiphol and Amsterdam to keep crowd levels at Schiphol under control. This involves four trains per hour instead of the usual 25 trains per hour. Furthermore, there is no public transport.

Please postpone your trip if possible. Check live traffic information before you depart. Please contact your airline for flight information.

This minimal service level (4 trains per hour) is a court obligation, obtained by Schiphol Airport and the city or Haarlemmermeer.

Another day of strikes at Schiphol: The Dutch labour union FNV has called the staff of security, cleaning, baggage, apron and check-in to strike on a number of moments during the day. This might affect your journey. Are you flying from or to Schiphol? Please take account for longer waiting times.

(For all those travellers saying they would never again fly from Brussels, it's not better elsewhere!)

British Airways pilots have called for strike action, after rejecting a pay package from management. A way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the airline?

British Airways pilots vote in favour of industrial action if a better pay offer is not presented.

Management will seek an injunction to prevent the strike.

Ryanair Irish pilot union plan to decide next week whether to join British colleagues in holding a ballot on strike action.

The injunction failed and the strike will go ahead.

Another group of workers is unhappy as London Heathrow can expect industrial actions on 5-6 August and on 23-24 August

London Heathrow communication via Twitter:
We have suggested to the airlines that 177 flights that need to be cancelled to maintain a robust operation. It is now up to the airlines to cancel these flights. We cannot speak on behalf of the airlines as their flights have not been cancelled. Thank you.
