The meeting was positive/constructive, hence no immediate strike threat anymore.

A strike at bus company De Lijn currently causes cancellations on some of the bus routes to Brussels Airport.

RTBF:

Nobody said that!

This is a wildcat strike, unannounced, and the people responsible for it should be sanctioned, never mind how justified their claims are. There is a legal procedure that has to be followed, in order for passengers and airlines to rearrange their schedules.

The original strike action would have started not before Saturday, some people couldn't wait ...

The official twitter account of Brussels South Charleroi Airport is dead silent, the official website doesn't mention the strike nor gives a solution for passengers to check with their airline. The Facebook page is dead too ... That's a shame ...

Contrary to reports in the main stream media, passengers are entitled to a rebooking or a reimbursement when they have missed their flights because they didn't make it on time to the gate, or because their flight has been cancelled.

The ongoing strike is not a strike by civil servants (example border control by the Police), but a strike by employees from Securitas nv/sa. And Securitas nv/sa is a private company and a subcontractor from the airlines: Securitas is a contractor from the airport, and the airlines operating at CRL have a contract with the airport.

I heared that only TUI accepts that principle, and rebooks stranded passengers for free.
