On 14 January, a Saha Airlines Boeing 707 (EP-CPP) has crashed near Payam Airport, Karaj during landing from Bishkek, Kirgistan. The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) – full owner of the airline – announced that at least 10 crew members were on board the aircraft. Officials said that seven bodies have been recovered from the wreckage. Saha Airlines operates domestic passenger services using Boeing 737-300 airplanes, and cargo charters carried out with Boeing 747 freighters when required. On 3 May 2013, all flight operations were suspended, Saha Airlines began operating again in 2017.

On 23 February, an Atlas Air Inc. Boeing 767 (N1217A) cargo crashed into Triniti Bay near Anahuac, Texas. The aircraft operated a flight between Miami and Houston. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) indicated three people were on board.

Based upon this photo, it seems that the aircraft didn't "crashed", but had an emergency landing, followed by a fire in the passengers compartiment:
