Re: KLM to end flights between Amsterdam and Brussels?
Zakenreisnieuws.nl ("Business Travel News") now reports: for the summer season, Amsterdam Airport has now limited the number of inbound wide bodies between 07h20 and 10h30 a.m. to 41 aircraft. Reason: not enough connected gates. Background, according to Zakenreisnieuws.nl: "Door de 500.000-slotlimiet uit het Aldersakkoord mogen er geen vluchten meer toegevoegd worden op Schiphol. Om toch meer reizigers te kunnen vervoeren, zetten buitenlandse maatschappijen steeds grotere toestellen richting de luchthaven in". Schiphol Airport says: "Less connected gates means discomfort for passengers, and tow truck traffic to/from remote stands cause a lot more runway crossings".

So, basicly... AMS is double f*cked in this one. Less slots means bigger planes which in turn are limited due to capacity issues.
