Re: Ryanair in 2019
1. A strike by own staff is not allways "beyond the airline's control". If a passenger has to go to the Swords/Dublin District Court, his chances to win such court battle are small indeed. But in other courts, judges rule differently. Example: this very recent Dutch verdict regarding a strike by Lufthansa personnel, where the judge accorded the cancellation indemnity:Ryanair today (27 Feb) welcomed Swords (Dublin) District Court’s recent ruling confirming that no EU261 compensation was due to customers whose flights were delayed/cancelled because of internal strike action in Ryanair last year, as such strikes are beyond the airline’s control. Ryanair fully complies with all EU261 legislation and has re-accommodated or refunded all customers affected by the small number of strike delays/cancellations, and provided full assistance to customers where needed, including accommodation, meals and rerouting. However, as these cancellations are beyond Ryanair’s control, no EU261 compensation payments are due, as confirmed by this Swords District Court ruling.
Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs said: “We welcome this ruling by Swords District Court confirming that no compensation is payable to customers when the (strike) delay/cancellation is beyond the airline’s control. If these strikes, by a tiny minority of Ryanair crew, were within Ryanair’s control, there would be no strikes and no delays/cancellations. This ruling follows similar court decisions in Barcelona, Badajoz, Orense or Pontevedra in Spain. Ryanair fully complies with all EU261 legislation and processes all valid EU261 claims within an industry leading 10 days.”

2. And in this very recent court case, also the Netherlands, Ryanair was convicted for a denied boarding because of their "online check-in & boarding pass rules":

Re: Ryanair in 2019
Another court verdict, stating that Ryanair is responsible for a strike by own personnel, and therefore has to pay the 261/2004 indemnity:
24/01/2019: "Ryanair condamnée au Luxembourg après l’annulation de vols"
La compagnie aérienne irlandaise Ryanair doit verser une compensation pour les vols annulés au départ et à destination du Luxembourg dans deux cas spécifiques. L’été dernier, des centaines de vols ont été annulés en raison de grèves du personnel (pilotes, personnel de cabine) en Europe.

I mean I don't understand how this is announced as a new route while it's starting on 1 April, winter schedule or not...
Re: Ryanair in 2019
Whenever there is bad news somewhere, Ryanair will immediately send out a press release with 'good news'. This "new route" has to counter this Italian story: a 9,2M fine:
