When three of your four aircraft are on the ground, and when the competition has to send their aircraft from Lisbon to Amsterdam (flying time LIS-AMS is 3 hours one way), you should be able to offer Surinam Airways a better quote.sn26567 wrote: ↑28 Sep 2018, 18:59Cheaper, older, less comfortable, ...Passenger wrote: ↑28 Sep 2018, 18:38 Surinam Airways, who was Air Belgium's first ACMI client, will use an EuroAtlantic B767-300ER for Saturday's PY-993/PY-994 AMS-PBM-AMS:

Better to keep the A/C on the ground than losing money.
Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Maybe AB didnt have a purser or captain out of rest? I saw the tender surinam put out and it was for 3 PBM rotationsPassenger wrote: ↑28 Sep 2018, 21:03When three of your four aircraft are on the ground, and when the competition has to send their aircraft from Lisbon to Amsterdam (flying time LIS-AMS is 3 hours one way), you should be able to offer Surinam Airways a better quote.sn26567 wrote: ↑28 Sep 2018, 18:59Cheaper, older, less comfortable, ...Passenger wrote: ↑28 Sep 2018, 18:38 Surinam Airways, who was Air Belgium's first ACMI client, will use an EuroAtlantic B767-300ER for Saturday's PY-993/PY-994 AMS-PBM-AMS:

I remember a while ago someome depicted the poor performance of ABB while flying from Paris to Lagos...with a screenshot attached to demonstrate how ABB was bad in terms of on-time departure...
Well take a look at their Abu-Dhabi operation for British Airways...not that bad!

It doesn't take an MBA to understand that competing against well established carriers in one of the most competitive markets with a new brand, bad shedule, secundary airport, small marketing budget while relying on the patience of your investment partners is a short term and short lived strategy.

And remember STD is push-back time, whilst ATD is take-off time.Desert Rat wrote: ↑30 Sep 2018, 22:20 I remember a while ago someome depicted the poor performance of ABB while flying from Paris to Lagos...with a screenshot attached to demonstrate how ABB was bad in terms of on-time departure...

Moreover, any delay listed in these tables is meaningless anyway since there is no indication of their cause.

Thanks for the heads-up, but what I meant was that those delays in Paris weren't code fourty!

Heard from a member of the management: "There's room for everybody on the market".teddybAIR wrote: ↑01 Oct 2018, 14:46 It doesn't take an MBA to understand that competing against well established carriers in one of the most competitive markets with a new brand, bad shedule, secundary airport, small marketing budget while relying on the patience of your investment partners is a short term and short lived strategy.
For the moment, let's say they know what they're doing. Time will tell us if Air Belgium is a success or a fail.

I can't really agree. Maybe ask the management of Primera Air, VLM Antwerp... or even Air Berlin?
