35-year old A300 OO-TZD (ex TNT Airways 2001-2004) is still flying:

"...On 23th July 2018, an AeroUnion Airbus A300B4 freighter, registration XA-MRC performing flight 6R-303 from Los Angeles to Mexico City landed on Mexico City's runway 05R, but came to a stop on the runway with 3 main tyres deflated. Mexico's DGAC reported the aircraft damaged three main tyres during the landing roll apparently due to the failure of the anti-skid. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated..."

Regarding passengers comfort, probably the worst thing that can happen: all toilets becoming inoperative when there is no airport nearby. It happened a few days ago on American Airlines AA-663 Phoenix-Hawai:

Norwegian named most fuel-efficient airline on Transatlantic routes for a second time (and British Airways the least efficient)
The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) today released its white paper analysing the fuel efficiency of the 20 leading airlines on routes between Europe and the United States in 2017. Norwegian once again rose to the top as the most fuel-efficient airline on transatlantic routes, this achievement marks the second time that the airline has been recognised as the clear leader by the ICCT following their initial report released in 2015. Findings showed Norwegian, on average, achieved 44 passenger kilometres per litre (pax-km/L), which is 33% higher than the industry average – soaring past 19 of its competitors. Norwegian, flies one of the youngest fleets in the world, comprised of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, 737-800s and 737-MAXs. According to the study, Norwegian eclipsed its competition as the most-fuel efficient on sample routes from New York to London, Los Angeles to London and New York to Paris. In fact, on the New York to London route, Norwegian’s competition including Virgin Atlantic, American, Delta, United and British Airways burned 33% to 78% more fuel per passenger-km. The results show that British Airways, which ranked last in the results, burned a staggering 63% more fuel per passenger kilometer than Norwegian, a marked increase since the last assessment in 2014. Additionally, Norwegian has reduced its per passenger emissions by 30% since 2008, thanks to its investment in new aircraft. “The most important thing that an airline can do for the environment is to invest in newer aircraft which use the latest technology to be as fuel efficient as possible. Our strategy to have a modern fleet is paying dividends not only for our business and customers but also our planet. This recognition from ICCT is truly the highest form of industry praise and is validation that we’re moving in the right direction with more environmentally friendly planes. For customers, this offers yet another reason to fly with us, to help reduce their carbon footprint.” said Bjørn Kjos, CEO of Norwegian. “One of the biggest changes in the transatlantic market between 2014 and 2017 was an increase in operations from European low-cost carriers and the further utilization of newer, fuel-efficient aircraft,” said ICCT’s Brandon Graver, lead author of the study.
The International Council on Clean Transportation is an independent nonprofit organization founded to provide first-rate, unbiased research and technical and scientific analysis to environmental regulators. Its mission is to improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of road, marine, and air transportation, to benefit public health and mitigate climate change.

In their press statement, Norwegian has forgotten to mention the other main reason why they top the list: seat density. Their small seat pitch and their lower percentage of premium seats. From the ICCT report: "...The report also assesses key drivers of the observed fuel efficiency gap across carriers. The underlying fuel burn of an airline’s fleet was found to be the most important driver overall, explaining about 40% of the variation in airline fuel efficiency across carriers, followed by seating density. The importance of seating density as a driver of fuel efficiency has increased since 2014 due to the expansion of low-cost carriers which operate transatlantic flights with higher seat counts and a lower percentage of premium seats compared to competitors..."

To quote Skift: "New airplanes with cramped seating provide the greatest fuel efficiency... New airplanes with spartan quarters appear to offer the greatest fuel efficiency when crossing the Atlantic. So enjoy that new plane smell as your knees buckle—you’re doing your part to fight climate change..."

But then, one comes close to what the green ecofundamentalists call the best way to travel carbon-friendly: don't fly.

Everybody wants to codeshare to Canada:

Aer Lingus and Flybe applied to codeshare on scheduled service from the EU to Canada.

Air Canada and Adria Airways applied to codeshare on scheduled service from Canada to the EU from 01 October 2018.
