webstermc wrote: 02 Mar 2018, 09:21 And according to facebook page of brussels airport:
Mark your agenda: 19 April, showcase of the new triple boarding bridge at Pier B. Efficient, passenger-friendly, convincingly comfortable and unique in Europe. The bridge will be put to the test with an Emirates A380 - coming to Brussels for this special occasion! (tickets to and from Brussels for that day are still available)
So the A380 is coming back to BRU :-)

Wouldn't it have been better to renew the bridges in the B terminal first before installing the A380 bridge.
Or renovating the bridges in the A? How old are these bridges ? Floor is damaged , warming is not working.
Last week I arrived in the A and the aircro was working , it was ice cold in the bridge.

I'm working at the airport and we are often telling to eachother that we are working at Brushasa.
Best regards,

I share that opinion, during summer the bridges are too hot, in winter they are too cold ... welcome to Brussels  and even at the 'newer' A bridges most of the doors to go airside are broken as well

Emirates has probably made a request to provide A380 bridges so that they can use the A380 to BRU. I guess that's probably the reason why BRU gave priority to the A380. I can see it happen that EK will change one of it's flights to an A380 if the test next month goes smoothly.

After that I think the other replacements will proceed. But from a commercial perspective these are of less importance than being able to say that your airport is fully A380 ready. Anyway, about that, has BRU a nose lifter capable of moving the A380? When the A380 docks next month they'll have to be able to push back the plane.

Does anybody know what they are doing at the drop off area ? The 'new' drop off area is now completely destroyed and major works are being done, also in the area next to the tent. How will the new situation look like? There's 0 communication about this from BAC!

Optimisation of the drop off area, so pax don't have to cross the street anymore, and the drop off zone is closer to the terminal.

Queue this morning at the B gates passport control
A disgrace for an airport the size of BRU

Impossible for anyone to arrive at a normal time in the airport and catch their flight.

I thought we were a Kingdom. Maybe we should say like King Richard III of England, who in the middle of a battle lost his horse and yelled "My Kingdom for a horse!". At BRU a horse could help getting fast at the top of the queues

I come back from LAX ( Tom Bradley Terminal ) via CDG today ( AF A380 ). At LAX all the check-in kiosks were out of order for all comapnies and we had to go to check in at old "chech-in" counters ... and at CDG all E-gates were out of order. So it's not only in Brussels that there are worries ...

The previous drop-off arrangement only lasted for a bit more than a year.

As it was never intended as a 'permanent' solution. Currently they are working on the next version of the 'temporary' solution until the full zone is completely redeveloped over the coming years.

Absolutely true.

Very poor management at BAC (as usual).

ps: in a few weeks time, we can also celebrate the 1 year (!) anniversary of the removal of the ceiling in the arrival hall... Go figure.

Un-be-lievable.
