The Brussels division from VLM appears to have been sold to a Dutch investor, including 2 A320's ex TCAB. :o

Another paint work needed on these aircraft after barely 2 months...

And who is that Dutch investor? Harm Prins?

So, that means we have once again a 'new' airline in Belgium, next to SN,TB,AB and VG.
Exciting times in the Belgian aviation world... 8-)

The article says that the new investor will concentrate on A320 charter flights, like VLM was doing. But later also on A330 flights to Asia !!!! Instead of VLM or in addition to VLM, Air Belgium, Cathay, Hainan, etc.????

Well it might not be a new airline, maybe it's an existing one willing to start operation in Belgium

Nothing published yet in the "Belgian State Gazette" at this point, last publication was last month with change of management.

Seems that the Brussels operations is called VLM Airlines NV (name change, ex-TCAB NV) and SHS Antwerp Aviation NV has registered the trade name VLM Regional (though the company name remains SHS Antwerp Aviation NV).

I guess the new management will be published in the next couple of weeks since the current CEO is gone already :)

I very much read that part of the article as 'instead of VLM'. The use of the verb 'neemt over' to me signaled that these activities move from SHS to the new owner.

But that being said: what's then left of the whole initial strategy to combine long haul flights from China to Maribor and possibly Ostend with onwards regional flights throughout Europe? How would those fit together if 'VLM Airlines' and 'VLM Regional' become two different companies altogether? I'm sure they could somehow work together, but still, it's quite a departure from what was shown on those blurry slides in Maribor.

And doesn't that mean that VLM Regional becomes yet another attempt to start up flights from Antwerp with old and slow planes to places that have been tried before, sold on a less than user friendly website and with no real marketing efforts to speak of? But I guess at least they haven't been blinded by the so called untapped opportunities of new routes from some godforsaken airports far, far away. So there's that.

Absolutely true. One must admit that their startegy from the beginning was very “bizare”. Until now it is not a real solid operation, rather a operation with a lot of question marks. I am wondering what is going to happen with the VLM in ANR. I can not imagine it will stay long in the air.

I give them max 1year.

I fervently hope the ANR-LCY service can survive, in some way. The more so that it will be spared from direct competition from fast trains, as yet: Eurostar Londoin-Brussels will soon be extended to Amsterdam but will not stop in Antwerp (neither in Rotterdam).

Unconfirmed rumour, hence no names: new investor is J. - represented by mr G. (J. is already active in aviation with company I.)

No - G. refers to a Chinese name - I'm waiting for confirmation.

Any update on 'Mr. G' and 'company I.'?
As per my sources it would be indeed a Dutch company and no Chinese investors...

Antwerp-Maribor not bookable on he VLM website... 'sold out' initially and afterwards 'no flights'.
MUC-MBX-MUC is still bookable though. Is this a (temporary) technical issue or something else?

I had the idea there was some demand from ANR to MBX though.
Snowheight in the Maribor mountains is 90 cm.Nice for skifun in a less wellknown area for us Belgians. :)
