Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Question: Will the 737 MAX be featured with the ("new") green exit sign aka 'running man' like on B787 or the red EXIT letter sign?
Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Avolon (the aircraft leasing firm from Ireland) issues a paper assessing the B737 MAX, with key findings being: MAX 8 remains the heart of the family; potentially strong placement demand for lessor’s forward MAX orders; demand for MAX 7 could be stimulated with a change in pricing strategy; a limited future of MAX 9 is likely; and the MAX 200 has a questionable future.

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Keep in mind it's only a 'completion and delivery center' (so cabin interior, painting, other final finishings and tests before delivery, etc.), not an assembly line like the ones Airbus has in China and the US for the A320family.

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Boeing is “concerned” over Jet Airways, which is grappling with financial woes, as the airline is a key customer. The airline has placed orders for 219 B737 MAX planes (!) and has taken delivery of only five of these planes. Furthermore, Jet Airways mulls grounding 23 B737s to cut losses, according to talks with pilot unions.

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Boeing said market demand was strong enough to support an even higher production rate of 63 B737s per month but such an increase depends more on suppliers being able to keep up.

Production of the 737 MAX continues, despite the MCAS-related problems.
Here is a picture of the first 737 MAX for TUI Germany, D-AMAX:
Please notice that in Germany, contrarily to Belgium, TUI shows the country flag after the registration.

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
This has nothing to do with TUI. The flag is a mandatory thing on aircraft in Germany, if I remember correctly.
Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Just a suggestion: wouldn't the whole MAX saga following the Ethiopian Airlines tragedy be better placed in this thread?

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Heading for a real estate issue, no?
Where are they going to park all these finished airframes ?
They are running the 73 at +50 a month.
By compiling the data from Boeing site it appears that the MAX now represents the bulk of that production line.
Shall the FAA grant a waiver to the grounding and allow Boeing to fly these B37Ms so ... where?
And without overflying populated area of course.

Boeing legal troubles grew as a new lawsuit accused the company of defrauding shareholders by concealing safety deficiencies in its B737 MAX planes before two fatal crashes led to their worldwide grounding.
China Eastern is claiming losses from Boeing after its B737 MAX fleet was grounded. The carrier originally planned to take delivery of another 11 MAX in 2019.
SilkAir to postpone the transfer of some B737-800s to sister carrier Scoot due to the B737 MAX 8 grounding.
United Airlines says the use of larger aircraft on routes previously flown by grounded B737 MAX jets is costing the carrier money in the short-term.

Southwest has removed the 737 MAX from its schedule through August 5 "to add further stability for Customers booking their summer travel."
Southwest is (or rather was) the largest MAX operator globally.
