Now that the program for next winter is online we can see further reductions in the flying from Brussels BRU. As it stands at the moment it seems that there are 23% less weekly flights: 139 weekly departures next winter, currently 181. No longer available for booking are Hamburg (-14), Grenoble (-1) and Mallorca (-3)(moved to Charleroi).

Larnaca 2 weekly (no change)
Berlin 17 (-4)
Dublin 16 (-2)
Milan 12 (-2)
Rome 16 (-5)
Venice 4 (-3)
Malta 7 (no change)
Lisbon 13 (-1)
Porto 7 (-2)
Alicante 4 (-1)
Barcelona 19 (no change)
Madrid 12 (-2)
Malaga 5 (-2)
Valencia 5 (no change)

After almost kicking out Vueling, Ryanair is reducing further. We can ask ourself if their model is doing good at Brussels Airport.

I see only one very huge winner in this and that's Brussels Airlines. Brussels Airlines is doing very well, very stable, good prices and each month very good figures. Ryanair can't beat Brussels Airlines, that's for sure and SN will increase further their share at BRU.

Having travelled twice to Hamburg recently. When checking flight options, fares to Hamburg were very cheap close to travel compared to other Ryanair destinations.

All flights were packed but as we all know you don't make money with € 4,99 fares.

oh no! what a piece of bad news!
and I find FR is increasing its prices recently, esp. to Portugal and Spain, after kicking out Vueling.
and now they reduce capacity, cancel Mallorca from BRU and totally Hamburg (I'm not surprised, it's always 5€ even some days before departure and when I took the flights -at the very beginning, true- they were not full).
is it because of the noise fees? what's happening?

I always found there is more space in Ryanair planes than legacy airlines. This has nothing to do. I don't know how ppl can still say legacy airlines offer more space, in economy class many including Brussels Airlines offer less space.

I think comfort is more then 1 or 2 inch legroom.

Indeed. And the above is not about more leg room, but about more seat pitch.

Because of a general strike in SXF.

If they state "Berlins' airports", they mean and Tegel and Schönefeld ;)

This is indeed a significant scaleback... but anyway - in order to stay precise - it would be interesting to put this in perspective with the evolution of the FR offer from/to CRL for the same period.

Indeed. Strangly enough now those, who were claiming that the arrival of Ryanair in BRU would make an end to high prices of those arrogant network airlines, are completely silent now. They have to see (and undergo) that Ryanair is cutting back their offer from BRU and rising the prices now that their low cost competition has disappeared...

Given the fact your about to integrate into the low cost arm of your mother company and are already classed in the balance sheet as a point to point airline i would say "they" were not too far off. This however is not the result of FR starting BRU ops but the major expansion of CRL and the boost of FR there a few years before that
