Swissport unions wish you a happy new year: Brussels Airlines is currently facing delays of 30 min to 1 hr due to social actions at their baggage handling partner Swissport.
Brussels Airlines staff are doing their utmost to help loading and unloading the baggage of their passengers, but many incoming passengers were already asked to file a missing baggage claim...

It's no strike and/or social action, the trade unions say.
They say it's just "bad planning by management, due to general shortage of staff".

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2017
Wow, the year is exactly 2 days old and we have our first 'action'. Congrats to all involved....
SN doesn't care about quality anymore. The one thing that counts is: it has to be cheap, cheaper, cheapest. Swissport offered their 'service' at the lowest price (meaning: with less personnel and quality)... and voilà, that's where SN went for.nordikcam wrote:Exact. There isn't a lot of choice at BRU, Aviapartner has refused to take the SN contract a few times over the past years. Too big of an investment for them.Boavida wrote: SN doesn't care about quality anymore. The one thing that counts is: it has to be cheap, cheaper, cheapest. The Unite union has announced six further days of strike action for British Airways Mixed Fleet crew next month.
The strikes dates are scheduled in two blocks, from February 5-7, and again from February 9-11.
But as sean1982 said above, BRU is not a mixed fleet route.
