The F100 was operated by PGA (Portugalia), which is set to become TAP Express with a new fleet of ATR72s and E190s. That's called "progress" !

Nordic Aviation Group to launch operations using own aircraft on 20-Jan-2016

Nordic Aviation Group announced (20-Jan-2016) its first own aircraft will depart for Amsterdam service on 20-Jan-2016 with Estonian crew on board. Nordic Aviation Group Board Member Erik Sakkov said: "Until now, we have struggled to ensure the continuation of direct flights from Tallinn with the help of our partners. Now we can start properly focusing on quality. Creating our own fleet and having Estonian teams on board will create these opportunities." The service will be operated using Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft, which will be predominantly deployed on Amsterdam, Brussels and Kiev services. The aircraft is operated by Nordic Aviation Group under Adria Airways' Air Operator's Certificate, under a dry lease contract with Regional One. The carrier plans to increase its fleet by one aircraft monthly, with the second CRJ700 to commence operations in Feb-2016. By summer 2016, Nordic Aviation hopes to increase its fleet to six CRJ type aircraft.

Maybe soon Andorra Airlines flights by ATR42/72 from Montferrer (in Spain, but close to Andorra where there is no airport) to Brussels.

Let's not get overexcited just yet. Airlines often request slots, and then don't use them. All this means is that they're seriously looking at the route, but it doesn't mean a decisions has been made.

A question related to this: why is there a need to even ask for slots in the first place?
At those times, BRU is not full if I have observed it correctly, whereas a slot is something like a timeframe reserved for you during busy periods, or is that another type of slot then?
So why do airlines request slots even if capacity is abundant?
Thank you.

We have to wait and see indeed, but in this case, Hainan was very eager to start up this route again, also under pressure of Belgium during the trade missions.
Hainan is not a company who is placing slots and than to not use it. In the case of BRU they were checking which airplace could suit the route the best: A330 or B787. For this route is indeed the B787 the best.

What we can see also is that we will have a more and more very important long haul wave during the evenings. This create opportunities.

Because BRU is a coordinated airport and most airports are controlled airport for the full day (AFAIK it depends on a specific category, but forgot the exact wording).

No, a slot is a slot. However some airports do have a distinction between a daytime slot and a night slot (at BRU night slot period start at 2245CET for departures and 2310CET for arrivals). Given that the number of slots (both daytime and night slots) is a political thing, it's not a given that when there is enough room, there are also ample of slots available (though as far as I know BRU has room left especially as the schedule is during normal daytime operation).

Croatia Airlines intends to wet lease regional 100-seat aircraft but says a final decision on the type is yet to be made. This is despite an E195 is being tentatively scheduled on select routes on select days from Zagreb, to destinations such as Brussels, Copenhagen and Split, starting 20 May 2016.

wouldn't it be easier to use the strength of Star Alliance and code share this flight with SN? like this they can use the 100seater for other destinations?
