Official source at Eurocontrol. Closure of Belgian air space extended until 1400 UTC (16 LT)

https://www.public.nm.eurocontrol.int/P ... index.html

Brussels FIR unavailable until 1400 UTC, due to ATC equipment failure.
A/D EBBR is also unavailable for arrivals due to the same reason.

In order to ease the flight planning situation the following RAD restrictions have been lifted until 1200 UTC: EB4010, EBLF4009, LF4044, YY4005.

Coordination between EHAM EDDY and EGTT are ongoing in oder to exclude some traffic from EBBU airspace.

For EBBR, the departure tolerance window has been extended for 1h.

NMOC is closely monitoring the situation and any update will be communicated as soon as we have it.

The 777F departed via beek, not on a standard routing, so they might have coordinated something with dutch as Liege and Beek have adjacent controlled airspace

looking at the link provided from Eurocontrol, it looks that northern belgium is more impacted by the delays

I still don't see any landings in Belgian airports, except one Ryanair flight from Alghero in CRL.

Ryanair from Porto to CRL is landing in Beauvais. PS145 from Kiev and TK1945 from SAW are flying to AMS. JAF3584 from ALC to OST is diverting to CDG. JAF3358 and FR2934, both from ALC to BRU, are flying over Belgium to Holland.

JAF3358 - OY-JTB flying for JAF will continue to RTM ( Rotterdam)

I guess LIL can not handle all the extra flights....

Eurocontrol a annoncé que la fermeture de l'espace aérien était prolongée jusqu'à au moins 17h30 heure belge.
Eurocontrol gave electrical failure at the Belgian center as the cause but gave no further details on whether backup systems were available.

Any explanation of the latest Belgocontrol fiasco ?
