The Belgian Red Devils flew to Tel Aviv for their next soccer game, and they didn't care about the age of their A330. The press was impressed by the Business Class interior:

It would have been better if they took the one with the Red Devils decals :) (OO-SFO)

Hi all,

I saw in the April issue of B-there that they operate 18 A319 now, and 6 A320 ...

Will the last addition this year be a A320 or yet another A319?

It will for sure be OO-TCQ.
However, it is not clear yet (regulations) wheather the registration can be changed to SNE or SNH, or not. Hence it is in airfleets as OO-...

According to CH-aviation it will be OO-SNH ... so we'll have to wait what it will be as the new registration isn't formally known yet.

However the 17th OO-TCQ flew DUB-EMA for painting I suppose.

Just a question, in Brussels when an airlines take an aircraft from another one, why does it take so long to be operational, it make more than 1 month that OO-TCQ didn't fly why does it take so long

My guess (as my knowledge on M&E doesn't reach far) is that TCQ had it's C-check in DUB which already takes a while + painting in EMA and on top of that all paper work needs to be finished aswell as a acceptance flight by SN + installing our company features in the FD,the cabin, ...

So it's a process that always takes a while when dealing with 2nd hand aircraft.

It's not as easy as it sounds...

Yes, it makes it a bit easier because in this case the aircraft allready carries a Belgian registration. So it will allready comply to BCAA standards and regulations, but that actually is a minor detail.

After its last flight with TC, the A/C will have to be redelivered to its lessor. That means it will have to be brought to a level of maintenance that was agreed prior to the aircraft was leased. Normally, it will mean that a C-check and some OOP tasks are to be performed as to assure the aircraft will be free of maintenance for some time to come. Then, when TC thinks it complies with the contractual conditions, the lessor will evaluate, and generally will have some items to differ opinion about, which then will take some time to iron out. Either extra maintenance will be performed, or TC will have to prove it does comply afterall. This process also takes some time... In the end, when both parties agree, the aircraft is redelivered, and back in hands of the lessor.

Other option is that TC will choose to pay a fee to the lessor, and redeliver the aircraft to them in an "as is" condition. All the maintenance work to get it back to the agreed standard will be carried out then under the authority of the lessor. That also takes time off coarse.

Then it is time for SN to accept the aircraft. They will also evaluate the machine, and probably have some demands towards the lessor. This also takes some time, but generally will be corrected in the same time as the work SN will do its work to get it up to its standard. When that is all over and done with, the aircraft will need a paintjob, and in this case probably also an interior modification to get it up to SN standard. When all is good in the end, the BCAA needs to certify it, and put it on the AOC of SN so they can start operating.
