Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2014

A plane of Brussels Airlines flying from Nice to Brussels had to make an emergency landing this Friday in Geneva airport. The pilot noticed that the specified amount of fuel fell much faster than normal and he started the emergency procedure as a precaution. It finally was just an electronic problem.

"There was an indication of a problem", said Kim Daenen, spokeswoman for the Belgian airline. "The pilot saw the amount of fuel falling down much faster than normal and therefore he preferred to land as a precaution."

A technical team is currently checking all of the aircraft, which should receive this Friday night permission to take off again.

Contrary to some information circulating on social networks, Geneva airport was not closed. The plane of Brussels Airlines had received priority to land, as is the case in these circumstances.

Now reported in The Aviation Herald:

A Brussels Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration OO-SSD performing flight SN-3622 from Nice (France) to Brussels (Belgium) with 117 people on board, was enroute at FL340 about 35nm north of Geneva (Switzerland) when the crew decided to divert to Geneva after the left hand fuel quantity indication began to unexpectedly decrease prompting the crew to suspect they were losing fuel.

Still fog in Warsaw Modlin: Ryanair flight FR 1057 from CRL to WMI was diverted to WAW (Warsaw Chopin Airport).

For the same reason (fog) SN 2560 flight from WAW to BRU was also cancelled.

Not really in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST because of the strike, didn't know where else to put it (mods, feel free to move this post to the appropriate forum)

JAF107 AMS-CUN (OO-JDL) seems to be diverting towards northeast USA (source: Flightradar)

OK to put it here since OO-JDL is based in BRU, and flight JAF107 would have departed from BRU if there had not been a strike.

Indeed: it was a medical stop for one of the passengers. The plane departed soon thereafter.

SN255 from BRU to Ouagadougou returns to BRU, due to a minor technical issue. It is circling around BRU and will land normally at around 1600.

In downwind over Mechelen at 16h38 with gear down, probably to burn additional fuel.

Any idea why?
