the pattern looks like the one used by planes for a maintenance release flight...
the flight number too, BTW.

At what kind of altitude (or, more likely, at what flight level) would that typically be flown?

This morning, the 07.30 Jetairfly flight Charleroi-Alicante was announced as delayed until 11.30.
Cause of the delay, given on the PA :
- in French : "panne électrique"
- in English : "power failure"

Looks like SN1453 to KGL (departed 11:18) is in holding over Belgium since a couple of hours: http://www.flightradar24.com/BEL1453/4c1a554

Brussels Airlines just tweeted that SN1453 has a minor technical issue and preferred returning to base.

Apparently a problem with one of the three hydraulic systems of OO-SFU.

Charleroi airport affected by a sabotage at Gosselies yesterday evening : many Belgacom cables have been cut, making u/s telephone, internet, Bancomat and other networks.

What avherald didn't report is that about 50 of the passengers were rebooked on the Ethiopian 787 (flight ET705) and will have enjoyed a much more recent aircraft. I don't know about the other passengers...

It's not all about how recent an aircraft is in terms of passenger comfort and on board service and experience though. And I don't know if the dispatch reliability of the 787 is higher than that of the SN A330 fleet

As also stated on aviation herald: no fuel dump? Just because of the hydraulic problems?

OO-SFU is not equiped with a dump system.

Didn't know, that: interesting! So the fuel dump system is not standard on 330's or is it neither on other aircraft?

FR-2925 Brussels-Lisbon : scheduled 07h25, departed at 15h06
FR-2926 Lisbon-Brussels : scheduled 13h35, expected arrival 20h54

Flighstats says "Tracking is not enabled for this flight". It was probably just a minor technical issue?

Brussels-to-Dulles Flight Stops in Iceland for Medical Emergency

A plane is expected to land at Dulles International Airport about 6:30 p.m. after it was forced to make an emergency stop. United Airlines Flight 951 took off from Brussels with more than 200 people on board.

During the flight, one of the passengers had a medical emergency, and the plane had to land in Iceland to get help. The patient’s condition is unknown.

It seems that the passenger passed away. Body was just carried off the aircraft at KEF. (Source: Joost Freys of HLN)
