Nice addition to the route map from BRU and especially Dresden is a place I go to every other month, but the schedule is way too thin for me as I go on day returns; this would be a good new destination for Brussels, IMHO, but with a denser schedule then.

The schedule looks like it is made to connect at BRU? Is this flight meant to connect to the Ethiad flight from BRU to the Gulf? Times aren't very convenient for that. Or will they also codeshare with others having a hub in BRU?

I really have to keep an eye on this one, as going to Saxony today, is hard to do for just one day: flying to TXL and then renting a car isn't very convenient and makes for a very tightly scheduled daytrip at present.

Both Leipzig and Dresden would make nice additions to SN's network IMHO.

there used to be a connection with Leipzig in the past operated by Air Lipsia so wait and see if F7 has more luck with this route

Etihad Regional is F7, not EY. ;)

It's not meant to be for connections (even not on EY). These flights have a similar schedule as those to/from AMS and fill the gap between the morning arrival and evening departure of ZRH and VIE. If you look at the new schedule from DRS the BRU flight will most likely going to be linked with ZRH or VIE (with AMS doing the other). The aircraft will then do a DRS-ZRH-DRS-AMS/BRU-DRS-ZRH or DRS-VIE-DRS-AMS/BRU-DRS-VIE-DRS rotation.

Regarding the booking engine of Brussels Airlines, the flight to Tel Aviv will became a doble daily flight operated on A319.

According to la dernière heure, SN will also go back next summer to LED and OLB and launch flights to CLY, DBV and LDE.

SVQ, TLV and FAO will see increased frequency from SN and MLA will be operated during a longer period than last year.

Isn't Calvi at Corsica? If they relaunch the two other Corsican destinations next summer as well, they will have 3 destinations at Corsica xp

Anyway, I think this is a prove to those that doubted SN's effort this summer to launch numerous seasonal destinations in Southern Europe, that it worked out perfectly. Maybe some of these new destinations are replacements for this summer's destinations? But in any case, if it would have been a failure, they wouldn't do this again next summer.
St Petersburg and Billund could be year-round, any information on that? Or will 6 be seasonal?

Excellent news from SN.. Wasn't LED served a couple of years ago? Did they not launch DME and LED at the same time, and then pulled out of LED a year later?

"...The airport of Lourdes will be served twice per week (Monday & Friday) between 11 May and 25 September (Monday & Friday). With its Lourdes service, Brussels Airlines offers an alternative travel solution to the thousands of pilgrims visiting the French town..."

With the number of international trains in Europe decreasing, it makes sense indeed.

I was beaten by a lot of colleague-contributors to this topic, but I would like to highlight this article nevertheless, since it contains an interesting remark not made so far, about there being 3 routes operated by jetairfly amongst the new ones announced today.

http://www.tijd.be/detail.art?a=9560197&n=3085&ckc=1

Is this a bit tit for tat, maybe?

I am very pleased with Petersburg.
I hope to use the service a couple of times ASAP.
Let's have our fingers crossed for it to survive also in winter.

Not at all. It are charter flights on behalf of Thomas Cook.
All these flights were operated by TCAB this summer, it are no new flights only the operator changes.

I assume you mean in close cooperation with Thomas Cook, with SN also selling their own tickets, not charter flights? SN doesn't announce charter destinations as 'new destinations'.

But it was the same this summer, how many 'new' destinations did they launch in Southern Europe this summer? 8 or something (I thought there were 10 new routes, with WAW and KRK in Poland included)? Most of them were largelly filled by Club Med and/or Thomas Cook(?) anyway. Just with SN selling their own tickets to fill up the aircraft even more.

Does it say what kind of aircraft will be used on these new destinations?
