Nothing for Brussels ...
Has easyJet given up at Brussels, leaving Vueling and Ryanair a clear field ?

Interesting sentence about the new destination Hamburg: "Flights will go on sale from 17 July 2014 starting at €42.32, based on 2 people flying one way."

Is it cheaper per person if you fly with 2 people instead of 1...? (or do they just take the admin fees into account here)

Low-cost airline easyJet said it was on track to grow annual profit by at least 14%, assuming no further significant disruption over the next two months.

The company forecast that pretax profits for the twelve months to the end of September would be in the range of £545m ($928m) to £570m and the range included the impact from situations in Israel, Egypt and Moscow.

After all the discussion we had on this forum about which business model is the best way forward for short haul airlines, it is -I hope- becoming increasingly clear that the biggest (profit) growth of intra-European aviation is NOT going to come from the Ryanair model, nor the traditional model, but the model which is in between; a model crafted by Easyjet, successfully improved by vueling and very recently also germanwings and to which all others are now quickly diverging as results from airlines which already have it, are outpacing that of their competitors which don't.

As to their new way to advertise fares for 2 iso 1 person: it is indeed a method to cut fixed administration/booking fees in half and it is widely used in the leisure industry.
I reckon it won't take long for other airlines to copy the idea and even expand on it (e.g.: "a family of four going to ABC can fly for only XY euro p.p.").
I am a bit surprised to see Easyjet pioneer this marketing method however, as it is something I would have expected from an airline with a higher ratio of families amongst their customers.

Yesterday, EasyJet announced its monthly passenger statistics for July 2014.
Total number of passengers rose by 7.7% y-o-y to 6.4 million and load factor was up 1.3 percentage points to 92.9%.
For the rolling 12 months ended July 2014, passenger numbers grew 5.9% to 63.82 million and the load factor improved by 1.1 basis points to 90.2%.

EasyJet has delivered a strong performance in July, with improvement in both passenger numbers and load factor. Ongoing investment towards building key network positions and launching attractive schemes for customers has helped in advancing sales. A robust pipeline of EasyJet’s lean initiatives, fleet up-gauging and airport deals are likely to improve cost position amid a competitive market. With ~77% of the seats for H2 2014 already booked, the company is set to surpass its revenue target for the full year. In wake of these factors, along with a strong balance sheet and low cost base, EasyJet is well placed to post sustainable growth and returns.
