World Cup 2014 flights

Post by sn26567 »

Apart from the Belgian Red Devils, for which we have a special topic (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=52462), many other teams and fans will fly to Brazil to play or attend the FIFA World Cup. This topic has been created to report about those special flights.

The German team has just left from Frankfurt (FRA) to Salvador (SSA) on board of a "Fanhansa" Airbus A340-600 (D-AIHQ). The flight number? LH 2014 ! Just like Belgium !

If you look for a picture of the AF plane, you can find some pictures where the type number is (partially) readable. Search for: 'les bleus' + 'avion'.
A search for the registration gives the same unmistakeable result.

F-GZCN is an A330 type.

This Sunday, June 15, the first plane carrying Belgian supporters will depart from Zaventem to reach Brazil.

In total, Jetairfly will take 1,200 fans to the World Cup. Departures are mainly related to games of the Red Devils.

This Sunday at 13:00, 250 Red Devils supporters take off to Belo Horizonte. They will attend the first match of our national team in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday, June 17 (Belgium - Algeria).

This flight is the first of a series of five special flights from Zaventem by Jetairfly and Dutch sister company Arkefly. These flights were chartered by The Aviation Factory.

In the coming days, 4 Boeing 767 (257 seats) still take off to join this time Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, for the other 2 first round matches (Belgium - Russia and South Korea - Belgium).

Friday, June 20, the first special flight will land in Brussels bringing 250 fans who were supported the Red Devils to their first match in Belo Horizonte.

For your information, the fans will register to 10:30 Jetairfly counter in the departure hall 2 at Brussels Airport.
