Confidential, sorry!
Re: BRU winter 2014: latest news, routes, airlines
Maybe better to discuss it in another topic as long as it's not confirmed. But anyway, the questions I have. Any idea/indication about frequency, launch date, a/c type, how will this influence LH's operation to Accra, will it be additional capacity or comming in place of other flights of the existing network?

This could mean that a new aircraft could could come in Winter... or that Washington will be cancelled...

Likely, but the flight is doing better recently, almost above 50% all the time now. And don't forget that they're comming from 10% loadscrew1990 wrote:... or that Washington will be cancelled...

When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No-one has ever collided with the sky.

And what about Accra and a new US destination, there is a lot of rumour for the moment about Boston and Montreal.
If a new A330 join the fleet, it could fly for example 4 weekly Accra in combination with another African destination like Lagos and 3 weekly flight to Montreal or Boston.

3 weekly is really low for Boston. There is quite some competition from Western Europe to Boston, offering 3 weekly services will not impress business travelers at all.crew1990 wrote:3 weekly flight to Montreal or Boston.

Funny, when I said a few months ago that SN had favored IAD over ACC that was offered by LH, I was called a liar (and much more, that was probably the nicest remark)Boeing767copilot wrote:SN plans to restart flights to Accra as from november 2014. Re: BRU winter 2014: latest news, routes, airlines
Washington is a waste as United operates a daily flight already while Boston has no service to Brussels and there is such a market here!!!
Do you realize that in summer Icelandair operates 3 Boeing 757s a day out of Boston!
Emirates just started with a daily 777 and its already almost full…
Turkish is starting 5x a week A330s in a couple of weeks…
It would be far more interested to have a nonstop to Brussels from Logan than having 2 from Dulles...

I wouldn't say you're a liar, just misinformed.sean1982 wrote:Funny, when I said a few months ago that SN had favored IAD over ACC that was offered by LH, I was called a liar (and much more, that was probably the nicest remark)
General question - why not stick to factual reports in this kind of topics instead of posting rumours and hearsay?
Re: BRU winter 2014: latest news, routes, airlines
Because , as it turns out, my rumour was not a rumour.
And in fact, isnt that what a forum is all about?

As I said in my initial post, this sort of topic usually is used for 'firm' news/announcements/notes. These kind of topics can get long and to keep it clear and clean discussions on rumours/unconfirmed news could better be discussed in a seperate topic in my opinion. But don't know what the moderators think of it.
But to react to your specific statement. I remember you made it some time ago, but I'm not sure if I reacted on it back then. But you state it as "LH offered...". I think that's oversimplifying the matter. As if LH "offers" a route to SN just like that. If LH would like SN to operate ACC, than it's because that's part of a wider strategy regarding Africa and I doubt they will 'give' a route just like that. It could be true of course that some AFI destinations (such as ACC) is supposed to move to BRU, but if that's the case, it's not like SN 'refuses' that because they are stupid and do what they want.
Related to this, I could see NBO move entirely to ZRH instead of the current split operations at BRU and ZRH.
As for now it's still a rumour.sean1982 wrote:Because , as it turns out, my rumour was not a rumour.

Re: BRU winter 2014: latest news, routes, airlines
If I remember well, Sean did say that SN was offered a choice of 2 or 3 destinations that were dictated by LH and that they had to choose from. Don't remember which topic it was and indeed Sean's information was refuted by one or 2 posters as being out of this world... in his defence.
Re: BRU winter 2014: latest news, routes, airlines
OK, I can't beat this, I take my words back. I wish SN lots of luck on this new route and look forward - after your pre-announcement - to the official announcement!sean1982 wrote:Because , as it turns out, my rumour was not a rumour.
Re: BRU winter 2014: latest news, routes, airlines
And does anyone know when the official announcement will take place. Maybe they are waiting to order the new A330 before making the anouncement...
Re: BRU winter 2014: latest news, routes, airlines
I know, off topic, but concerning loadfactor SN-flights to IAD, on 9th february, 25.677 kg of cargo was put on board of SN 515 by partner ECS.
