A gyrocopter (a craft between ULM and helicopter) crashed today Sunday at 3:35 p.m. in Liernu. The pilot, a native of Grammont/Geraardsbergen in his sixties, did not survive. The man was the sole occupant.
According to our sources, no technical problem is the cause of the accident. It appears that the pilot has been a little too impetuous in his turning maneuver while flying at a height of 150 meters.
The accident occurred in front of other enthusiasts of microlight flying and the victim's wife.

Sad to read this... May the victim rest in peace...
But, as far as I'm aware, all gyrocopters are still not allowed to fly in Belgian airspace?
