TUIFly Belgium (ex-Jetairfly) Boeing 787 Dreamliners

Post by Novastar »

Something completely different; any news on a possible delay for the delivery of their 787 ?

With recent safety issues one might expect some delay ?

Their first 787 is currently undergoing final assembly (position 2 of the main production line in Everett, there are 4 positions in total). Delivery should be in November I believe.

But I can't help with more information, maybe some JAF staff active on this forum (though I believe it has already been mentionned somewhere on this forum when they'll operate the first flights and so on).

Delivery is still foreseen around November 25th.
First flight in Belgium should be around December 2nd.

This sounds like a great moment for a big Sinterklaas cadeau for avgeeks belgium !
Anyone from Jetairfly reading luchtzak.be ?
What more can I say, introductionflight for aviationlovers all over belgium!
Sabena filled four jumbojets in one day as a farewell flight, guess the 787 introduction deserves at least one !

Im sure it will be a big event to fly their B787 on the first flight to MIA. When was this flight foreseen again?

Just that JAF won't fly their B788 to MIA but only JAP following their initial shedule !
Punta Cana it will be, but first some european routes only like BA,LO,.. ;)
or a roundflight like the SN jumbo's..

Why not? It is a shame to fly to a new prestigious destination like MIA and not using the new B788

The first flight to MIA is in April.
I think we just don't know everything about the B787 projects yet.

But...first belgian B787, special aircraft, special airline = special things coming up for its first flight :)

Some more questions ;)
Will there be individual in-flight entertainment?
Any info on seatptch/seats?
Will it be in a 'neutral' livery like the B767?

What about Comfort Service/class? Thanks.

Registration will indeed be OO-JDL.
300 passengers with 3 different classes, don't know the details.

Livery will be the full JAF version, the neutral livery on the B767 was only made for the coop with Thomas Cook in the past and is no longer...Jetairfly wanted their full livery on the aircraft since the beginning anyway!

3 classes? Last I hear, it would be practically the same as the Thomson 787s?
- Comfort, +/-50 in a 2-3-2 config.
- Eco, +/-250 in a 3-3-3 config.

Anyway, we'll see soon enough ;-)

So economy class in 767 (2/3/2) was better? :?:

I just made a HUGE mistake, it's normal 3/3/3 in a 787 economy class. Sorry!

The cabin width (interior) on the 767 is about 4,70 m. If I'm not mistaken, the 787 adds about 80 cm to that number, at 5,50 m.
So it is rather easy, and still pretty comfortable to go to 9 abreast vs 7 abreast.
