As far as I heard, no fixed replacement is coming over. The necessary subcharters will mostly be done by Arkefly, sometimes by Thomson.sean1982 wrote:Anyone who knows which ArkeFly plane is going to fly for JAF?

Re: OO-TUC retirement
Does someone know why OO- TUC couldn't fly straight to SGT iso passing by Bangor ?
Re: OO-TUC retirement
Has something to do with customs I believe.Depretair wrote:Does someone know why OO- TUC couldn't fly straight to SGT iso passing by Bangor ?
Re: OO-TUC retirement
Probably, several US airports can not receive international flights as they don't have the required custom facilities.Kapitein wrote:Has something to do with customs I believe.Depretair wrote:Does someone know why OO- TUC couldn't fly straight to SGT iso passing by Bangor ?
Several Boeing deliveries also tend to happen through another US airport (mostly in Seattle) as not all the airports with Boeing facilities have international customs (or at least that has been the case in the past, may have changed by now).

Goodbye OO-(s)TUC!
I've only flown once with her. True to her reputation, we left Kenya with a 12 hour delay after she broke down in Bangkok

My wife flew it twice this spring, without any problem whatsoever. During its latter years it was an excellent plane. Of course it cannot compete with the 787. But having only two long-haul planes in one's fleet can lead to huge problems if one of them goes technical for whatever reason.

When arrives JAF's second 787 ?
Re: OO-TUC retirement
As far as I know there aren't actual plans to add a second 787. Could be wrong though.

Re: OO-TUC retirement
JAF or better TUI GROUP will replace JAP with a B787, no date set..
Probably with the next big 787 order for the TUI Group..
Rumours were that they will got another 787 before the next deliviries for Arke,...
But now they are gonna merged who knows...
Rotation of belgian and dutch COULD be the case...
Still have to wait for a confirmation...

Not sure that JAF will get a second 787. TUI has placed an order for additional 787s, but the allocation of these aircraft among the TUI airlines is not yet decided.Boavida wrote:When arrives JAF's second 787 ?

I'm rather sure they'll get one more, it's more a matter of 'when'. That's also why TUI doesn't assign all their orders to a specific division immediatly, but closer to the delivery dates to make sure they fill the needs in the best possible way. But eventually OO-JAP will have to be replaced and they are not going to take something else than the 787.sn26567 wrote:Not sure that JAF will get a second 787. Arke is said to get 'just' three to replace their 767 fleet (with the first arriving in May/June of this year) as they will size down their long haul network and already have overcapacity in their current fleet. Though I don't know if they'll eventually end up with these 3 787's only or still with one or two 767's remaining in the fleet. If that's not the case, there is not much capacity they can 'loan' to JAF.
I think that in a later stage JAF will end up with 2 and Arke with at least 4 or maybe 5.
