Didn't it also operate the last Sabena flight from IAD. Nice to 'relaunch' the route with the same aircraft. Same aircraft, same route, new company, new interior, new start

SFU will not open the IAD route after all. It's now flying SN359...

According to Wilkipedia, two additional planes are under order : a sixth A333 and a sixth A320.

Does Wikipedia (which language?) give a source for this information?

No! Any source... just an A320 and an A333 in the column of orders.
It's the english version of Wikipedia and the table seems to be correctly updated... Wikipedia is Wikipedia but concerning the A330, it can be related to the the moving of D-ALAA from ZRH to LHT Malta...

Since the last three A330's that joined the fleet were A332s I assume they will go for another A332. I think that the D-ALAA has a good change.
Anyway I hope that SN is not considering the ex MH birds since they are old and SN has already too many of those ;)

They have no choice, if SN doen't want to loose the market left behind 9W, they have to invest urgently to get some new long haul bird to take the PAX to fly in NY area and Toronto.

Not Toronto, leave Toronto to Air Canada. Montreal is what SN can do the best, a huge percentage of these passengers fly on to France and Africa with SN. ;)

I agree with the fact that Montreal is more suitable for SN that Toronto, however I think that SN should fill the gap left by 9W. And about a triangle flight Brussels-Toronto-Montreal-Brussels?

This winter will be too fast probably, but I could see Air Canada starting YYZ-BRU next summer (or who knows even faster if 9W leaves). As from that moment SN should be prepared to take over YUL.
A triangle flight is not a great idea for North-America.

It has always been the idea within Atlantic++ that at a certain moment, Air Canada would leave the YUL-BRU market in favor of SN and instead launch non-stop YYZ-BRU, and this with the 787, so possible as from 2014.

The D-ALAA you are refering to is currently N602AW, the D-ALAA the rest is refering to is c/n 874, an ex-Kingfisher A330-200 currently in Malta at Lufthansa Technik under the temporary registration of D-ALAA.
I tought you were good with the internet...(and it's not difficult to find why OO-ITR mentioned D-ALAA, just scroll up to some older posts at this page)

Well thank you, the links above don't show anything about D-ALAA and the only thing I see above is posts quoting Convair's initial post which is probably taken from another forum.

D-ALAA must be a ferry reg, I suggest that you refer to it as ex VT-VJK or MSN874. Ferry regs doesn't show in my database, and I'm using ACAS, which is the best database in the world, not some spotter site.

So is this frame for SN or what is all the fuss about?

Convair's post is some pages back (page 4 I believe), then there was a small discussion about the destination (with which I mean the future owner/operator) of the aircraft (which is unknown). But the quote above from Convair should have been clear enough to realise the D-ALAA that's being talked about here isn't exactly the A320 you mentioned.

Like I said, ACAS shows me an A320 with V2500's. It's not-done to communicate using test or ferry regs because no reliable database will show them. Anyone can go on the spotter sites and create registrations at will.

So is this bird for SN?

Of course, but if people are talking about this multiple times, don't you think to look a bit further why they are talking about this aircraft/this reg.? It's a temporary reg that of course you can't find in a database, but the source is clearly stated (Skyliner) and that source is (in my experience) quite reliable in giving the right information about deliveries, ferry flights, temporary regs,...

I'm not going to reproduce the small discussion of page 4-5. Bottom line is, nobody knows and I don't believe it until I see it. The aircraft came from Kingfisher, got stored in Zurich, then got the temporary registration that belongs to LH Technik and more recently it was ferried to Malta where LH Techniks A330 facilities are based. That's all that's certain.
