Due to technical reasons, flight 9W 226 from Chennai to Brussels on 7 Mar 2011, with 218 passengers on board, as been diverted to Ankara (Turkey).

As a precautionary procedure, the aircraft is being examined and will undergo various checks before its departure from Ankara. As of now the proposed departure of this flight from Ankara’s Esenboga airport (ESB) is as follows:

present at Melsbroek at 13.50 was AMI Falcon 50 MM62026, at Abelag USCG Gulfstream "01" was still present

Any ETD known for the US Coast Guard ?

Left around 18h00, probably followed by the departure of 2 US army helicopters, also parked at Abelag.

Asiana apparently had some fueling problems, causing additional delay at departure.

Thanks jdw, the situation makes more sense now with your explanation. That cart really made a lot of noise and smoke when it was operating.

Incident: Jet Airways A332 near Ankara on Mar 7th 2011, engine shut down in flight

A Jet Airways Airbus A330-200, registration VT-JWK performing flight 9W-226 from Chennai (India) to Brussels (Belgium) with 218 passengers, was enroute at FL360 over the Black Sea when the crew needed to shut an engine down and decided to divert to Ankara (Turkey) for a safe landing.
Following checks and repairs the airplane was able to continue the flight and reached Brussels with a delay of 7 hours.
