SN said end 2010/early 2011, but from what I've heard we don't have to expect anything in 2010. So probably in the first half of 2011.

this month there is an article in ATW about Brussels Airlines.
In the article they discuss the replacement of the Avro.
It states that LH Group ordered the CSeries for Swiss. SN won't opt for a CSeries to replace all their Avro. So looks like they will have a few CSeries in their fleet after all..
This was said by one of the CEO's. But he says that they will have a 'hybrid' fleet mix. So it looks like they will have a mix of different a/c's.

Maybe some Q400/ATR's for short (!!) routes, Cseries for longer regional routes and short high(er) demand routes and A32S for mid haul and high demand/premium routes?

Gustin says they will always have a complex fleet because they will always operate regional, long haul and medium haul because the business is there. Of course that means a complex fleet as they are not that big, but they need a solution for regional, medium- haul and long- haul flights. And the problem with the Cseries is that they can't be used on thin regional routes.

BTW, this is being said about the new comming aircraft in 2011:
Its fleet plan for 2011 foresees the addition of four A319s and two A320s, all of which will be phased in by summer. Six RJ85s come off lease next year, but management is looking at “new business opportunities” to possibly retain them and deploy them on new regional routes.
So it's possible that not all six RJ85's will leave SN. It would be nice to see them launching some new routes like Bordeaux for exemple.

That would be a good idea!

I was also thinking about Bordeaux.

What are other potential routes?

Destinations they flew for some time: Genoa, Cork, Valencia, St-Petersburg, Cagliari, Ajaccio?

Further: Bergen, Stavanger, Belfast, Nantes, Luxembourg, or what about Innsbruck, Graz?

Special case: Dublin

Cheers,
Danny

The first 2 A319s are indeed coming from Mexicana and are (almost) brand new: one built in 2009, the other in 2010.

The 2 A320s are from Air Berlin (LTU).

great so we can start guessing about the registrations now...
About Mexicana, these are the possibilities :
N275MX and N790MX
for Air Berlin :
I'm guessing for the eldest A320's so D-ALTB and D-ALTC
Would that be a correct assumption?

What do you think of A319:
N429MX (cn 1429, ex Sabena OO-SSN),
N618MX (cn 1618, Sabena ntu as OO-SSP),
N634MX (cn 1634, Sabena ntu as OO-SSQ).

The two Mexicana's SN will get are build in 2009 and 2010 wich makes cn 1429, 1618 and 1634 absolutly impossible.

N275MX is the only one build in 2010 wich is still stored (two in 2010 build A319's already went to Frontier), so I suppose this one is for SN. And N790MX is also the only one build in 2009 wich is still stored (another one went to Frontier). So as stated by diminbru these two should be for SN.

About the A320's, wasn't it already mentionned some time ago wich two SN was looking for? D-ALTC and D-ALTD?

Indeed.

The A319s will likely become SSR and SSQ, while the A320s will become SNA and SNB.

2 further A319s are also tagged, BTW.

How will the fleet of SN look like then ?
Wiki tells me that they have 6 A319s for the moment with 4 on order, the official site of brussels airlines tells me 4 A319s at the moment?

SN's fleet information on their website is not up to date. They have updated the amount of A333's to five, but the rest is not updated. The fleet information on wikipedia is correct. ;)

esp. the last paragraphs is very interesting. LH wants to cut costs by using bigger aircraft...So I guess they won't use turboprops to cut costs... :D

That's good to know. Will he get his pre delivery check overthere or will he be painted overthere (or both)?

When can we expect entry into service? Together with the start of the IATA-summer season? Or earlier?
