Cessna Crash near Ursel Airfield

Early this evening a Cessna crashed near Ursel Airfield. Pilot and Passenger got killed. I'll try to figure out more since I don't live far away.

We had rain around 17.00 till 18.00 and later snow.

If anyone has details let me know.

It seems the wreckage was found in the 'Drongengoedbos', which is right in the downwind leg if you fly a left hand circuit for runway 07... (winds in EBOS were 270, but this may not be a good indication)

Both pilots are said to be members of the Ursel Vliegclub. If the plane was a Cessna, it was not a plane from the club itself, as we own a fleet consisting of Pipers only.

Piloot was 75-jarige Maria Cornelis, ook 74-jarige inzittende man gestorven — KNESSELARE - In de buurt van het vliegveld van Ursel is zaterdag rond 16 uur een sportvliegtuigje met twee inzittenden bij het landen gecrasht. Het werd bestuurd door de 75-jarige Maria Cornelis, een gebrevetteerde pilote. Pas ’s avonds laat werd het wrak teruggevonden.
