Absolutely marvelous.
Huge wing flex and dihedral, the B787 just made another fan.

Now let's hope that they get this thing into operations very soon.

Here's the video of the beautiful landing:

The flight was cut short from 5 to 3 hours. That's not such a great start for Boeing's 'accelerated' flight test programme..

Also, everybody was cheering when the A380 first flew, and they still managed to get 2 years behind schedule after that.

So congratulations Boeing, but for the time being I'm not rushing to buy Boeing stock.

Poor weather conditions was the reason it was cut short.

Ok SmacDC10,

we do all agree that modern airplanes are extremely ugly, unstylish, dull, boring, totally crap, unreliable, unsafe, just any negative word can be used for it.
As real avaition fans we only want to fly in Dakota's, cramped and noisy B707, make a wish Russian planes, bumpy prop driven coffins and unpayable Concorde. ;)

We must be happy that this bird took the skies, as it is one of the cornerstones of affordable aviation for the next 20 years.

Yes but poor weather happens, and I'm not so sure their flight test schedule really allows for it.

A few minutes before they take-off they said they were verry happy with the weather because there was no rain. But when they were in the sky the weather became worser and worser and they don't want standing water on the runway for their first flight. That's normal procedure for a first flight but the weather in that part of the US in this season is not really perfect. ;)

It was an air speed sensor to calibrate some test instrumentation and gather some data.
