Windows 8.1 and Flight Sim

Post by Comet » 21 Jan 2014, 17:48

I'll be getting a new computer soon which runs Windows 8.1. I know FS2002 isn't compatible with the later Windows, but is any other FS compatible?

I have read mixed things about this, on the Microsoft website it says there is some compatibility but then some people are saying FS doesn't work in 8.1.

Does anyone have any experience of running FS in the latest Windows system?

I'm using Flight Sim 2002 on win 8.1, one thing that you have to do is run it in Windows XP compability mode.
Cheers.

Thanks. I ordered FSX for a good price, but if it doesn't work well I still have FS2002 which I'll install and run in compatibility mode.

I installed FSX tonight, and so far it is working well. It is fun to be (virtual) flying again, now I just want to get some nice scenery and some more planes. I had loads of planes in FS2002.

Hi all
Does anyone know if there is an upgrade or patch for the Phoenix flight sim so you can get cockpit view when flying.
Thanks in advance.
