EasyJet plans to open a major hub at EURO Airport (Basle - Freiburg - Muhlhouse). It will be the first EasyJet hub on the EU mainland. This is expected to be bad news for Swiss which is already facing financial problems. No information on the fleet size or type though.

Well, it's SWISS themselves who decided to abandon Basle airport! And nature does not like vacuum...
Austrian Airlines was already quick to fill the gap on Basle-Vienna flights.

They talk about a major hub. Maybe they don't consider the others as being major hubs....

Im sure Basle will become a hub, but not a major one. The airport has catchment into France, Germany and Switzerland so is in a good geographical position

Who will operate the Basle-Brussels flights once that SWISS will retire from Basle airport? easyJet or SN Brussels Airlines?
Neither one has the right planes (ER4 or CRJ) to operate that route...

Are those flights very profitable for SN or not? If not I suppose they will simply remove them from the timetable.
