Hi everyone!
Airbus.com has now presented there first pictures of the Airbus A350!
What a great disappointment! I truly hope the put more time on it!
Even my little brother could do better job than that!
I suppose we have to wait 3 to 5 years until they put a A350 website like Boeing has for the NightmareLiner 7“Don’t care”7!
Take care!

Seems to be the idea, the 10 Dec press release says:Robin_Bamps wrote:Looks more like a stretched A330...Regards, Robin Bamps.
The new sisterships to the A330s are called “A350” models...they complement the current A330-200 and -300 line, offering extended range in these seating categories.
An interesting article from the Boeing Company

Boeing thanks Airbus for the flattery

The Boeing Co. is welcoming a decision by its European rival to build a plane that can compete with the Chicago company's 7E7.
That's because, Boeing officials say, the Airbus 350 is not much more than an imitation of Boeing's upcoming Dreamliner, as their 7E7 also is known, the Washington Post reported Saturday.
Until recently Airbus had publicly expressed confidence its A330 could hold its own against the 7E7, said Randolph Baseler, Boeing vice president of marketing.
Airbus is out there scrambling, he said. What they've acknowledged is the 7E7 has basically given them a great problem.
The Airbus 350 seeks to match the fuel efficiency, high-technology, and lightweight materials of the Dreamliner, scheduled to begin flying in 2008.
Airbus describes its model as a sister aircraft to an existing line of the company's double-aisle planes. The A350, to begin flying in 2010, will be offered in two versions, seating 245 to 285 passengers. The A350 is to have a range of about 1,500 miles farther than the existing Airbus A330.

Awful? Well I don't think it looks awful, it just looks the same as a A330/A340 ...
And why should you guys care about the color sheme? I don't think any airline cares about the "paintsheme" or the model of an airplane, but performance, that's what's it all about !!
We still have some years to go ahead ... a lot can change ...
I will take this as an ironic statement ?Even my little brother could do better job than that!

Tot hier en verder
Well it looks indeed quite similar to an A330, but that was also predicted since the A350 is an "update" of the current A330 fleet.
Let's see if Airbus will put those huge winglets on the A350 as it is pictured above.
I totally agree with you on the fact that an airplane's look isn't important but its performance is.
On the other hand, I also have to agree that Airbus could have a nicer corporate livery. If you compare it to the one of Boeing, it looks awful. Airbus could learn something on that level from their American colleagues.

These are just pictures of the A330 prototype which they stretched (or shortened) and then gave it new titles, thats it ...
Although the A350 will be an update of the current A330, I doubt it will look the same like the A330 on the outside. The probably used these images because of a lack of designs to make a CAD (Computer Aded Design) ...
I think we should wait untill we see CAD's of the A350 before judging it ...

I agree with him. Airlines have their own paint schemes and livery for be concerned with. The key question here is, PERFORMANCE.Airbus_fan wrote:

it looks so standard!
the 7e7 looks good and would deal with any a350 easily
maybe boeing should also concentrate on revamping the 747 - a fantastic plane that shouldn't be allowed to waste away like the (excellent) 707 did
the pictures of the a350 are actually more ruined by the airbus colour scheme on the tail!

I too would have liked Airbus to have projected something better looking, although in this industry looks alone don´t sell. Im quite sure that Airbus will introduce some new improvements that are visable to distinguish it apart from its older sister the A330. Its still too early to make any judgements this early in the game, considering that the final freeze hasnt been givin yet.

Hello folks!
Awful???? WOOOOOW!!!
Might even look nicer than the 330-300.
(not that i'm trying to say that it's ugly with that)
Maybe a little bit because i have made a 'shortcut A330' several years
ago myself , i have made several detail images (drawings) from simply
a shorter 330-200 about 54-52 meters tall i guess. (Can't remember myself ) , and i called it the A370 , but yeah...the 350 is good too.
Even stronger...tried the same thing with an A340 ,and it was even nicer...
just looked like an IL-96. (also about 54/52 meters tall)
In every case...i like it.

Fantasy is good , but too much makes it ugly , by my opinion it should stay
the same as the 330 but just shorter. And that will be like that if you see
the pictures. I do agree that airbus may find a more colorful 'house colors' paint sceme. But that's indeed not Airbus's greatest worry.
Best Christmas regards: Yannick Enjoy your holidays ,
and for al those who are going to travel: BON VOYAGE!
