BAF80 is actually en route to Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi right now. Expected to continue to Islamabad, from where Belgium will coordinate their operations. Also the military transport planes mentioned above will depart for Islamabad initially, pending US approval to fly into Afghanistan.

The Belgian Defence Falcon 7X departed at 16:00 from Melsbroek to Islamabad, Pakistan, to pre-position itself for the Afghanistan Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO).

It carries a preparation team and a consular team. It will be followed in the "coming hours" by two C-130s and an A400M,i.e. transport planes, and a NEO detachment of about fifteen soldiers, announced the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence, Sophie Wilmès and Ludivine Dedonder, and Secretary of State for Asylum, Sammy Mahdi, in a statement.

From the Pakistani capital, planes will make several round trips to Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, depending on the number of people to be evacuated. The transport planes carrying out the mission have a carrying capacity of 100 people for the A400 M, and 60 people for the C130.

The operation may last several days, the statement said. The evacuees will be transferred to Belgium.

PIA operated some 777-200 flights there to help get out stranded Pakistanis and foreigners.

A Qatar Airways 777 not sure 200 or 300 variant, also flew there.

Turkish Airlines operated a 777-300.

SAS sent two A320neo in old livery, to Islamabad to pick up Danish and other Scandinavians flown out from Afghanistan.

LOT B788 SP-LRH performed a flight to Navoi NVI/UTSA (Uzbekistan) to carry polish diplomacy evacuated from Afghanistan. It is planned to arrive in Warsaw WAW/EPWA at 1700Z today.

Air Europa's Boeing 787-8 is operating flight #AME0821 on behalf of the Spanish Air Force to Dubai to repatriate Spanish citizens evacuated from Kabul, in Afghanistan.

Up until a few hours ago, SAS had 2 Airbus A320neo aircraft on the ground in Islamabad. They flew direct from Copenhagen. One has now left & is en route to Dubai.

T-055 (multinational A330MRTT in which Belgium has a part) is also at Islamabad Airport now.

The landing in BRU was yesterday morning at 0842 LT (0642 UTC).

Meanwhile this morning around 0840 LT (0640 UTC) another C130, CH-01, departed towards what appears to be Larnaca (LCA | LCLK) with ETA around 1300 UTC. There has been no official communication about this flight so far. Possibly additional support for the NEO mission, doing a fuel stop in LCA like the other three did (CH-07, CH-11, CT-01) on Wednesday?

A first Belgian C-130 has left Kabul to Islamabad with 60 to 70 people onboard (16 Belgians and their families). A second C-130 had to return empty to Islamabad because of the difficulty to reach Kabul airport.

One fully-loaded C-130 came back from Kabul to Islamabad.

A third C-130 (CH-01) left Larnaca, where it had been overnight, to Islamabad this morning.

A second Belgian C-130 was able to land at Kabul today and is now back in Islamabad. Together, those two C-130s carried 170 persons to safety, among which many Dutch and Belgian nationals.
