If he was able to leave soon after his little brother, why have to charter another plane if he can fly ? Is it a matter of security or something else ?
TUI spokeswoman Sarah Saucin told me that OO-TUV brought a spare part for OO-TMY from Brussels to Alicante. The repair could be done immediately and OO-TMY could depart to Brussels 15 minutes after OO-TUV.

Next mission for OO-TUV: flight to Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan, on behalf of Belgian Defence tomorrow.

It can have a lot of possibility’S. Like the problem was fixed faster as foreseen. During that time it was also very easy to send a spare airplane so that the passengers didn’t have to wait longer. Or the problem was fixed so it could fly back to brussels to maintenance to fix the problem completly. And you can go on and on. But mostly it will be fixed faster as foreseen and so that the pax didn’t have to wait longer to leave.
