PIA were permitted a dozen flights of which they operated quite a few to Newark, Chicago and Washington nonstop with 777LR.

FAA has downgraded Pakistan’s air safety rating to Category 2 after the agency raised concerns about pilot certifications.

Pakistan International Airlines is in negotiation with a private airline to operate chartered flights for Pakistanis stranded in Europe and the US.

Its HiFly, an A340 will operate Islamabad-Paris round trip on 22nd/23rd July.

Pakistan International Airlines seeks charter operator with EASA cleared widebody aircraft in two-class, 250 plus seat configuration until March 2021. IOSA required. Bids due 25 September 2020.

Pakistan International Airlines did not file an appeal against the EASA six-month ban on operating flights in EU member states after the carrier was told that it might face another embarrassment for not meeting the required safety measures.

What after the six-month ban ? Extension or a sudden change into the airline’s operations?

ICAO has advised Pakistan to undertake “immediate corrective actions” and suspend the issuance of any new pilot licenses in the wake of a scandal over falsified licenses.

Pakistan International Airlines is set to lay off 3,000 employees and sell its non-core assets abroad in a bid to cut down the deficit.

Pakistan airlines may face a ban to operate in 188 countries in the world over their failure to meet international standards with regards to pilot licensing as required by ICAO.

Pakistan International Airlines has been informed by EASA that the EU ban has been extended by three months and that it would not be reviewed until a safety audit of the CAA.

Pakistan International Airlines has passed the IOSA audit from IATA, a step for the resumption of flights to the EU, UK and US.
