Can we expect a rise in airport taxes to pay for all the works going on at this airport?
Dumb question, I know...

The skiing holidays (February and March 2020) were blamed as the main corona spreader for 'wave 1' in our country.

Press reports about last weekends' chaos at CRL will probably blame the Christmas holiday makers (mostly VFR traffic) as main cause for the '3th wave'.

You ( not you Passenger :-) ) will have to explain to me in understandable words what an "essential" trip is.

European Council - Covid-19 - specific categories of travellers with an essential function or need:

1. Healthcare professionals, health researchers, and elderly care professionals;
2. Frontier workers;
3. Seasonal workers in agriculture;
4. Transport personnel;
5. Diplomats, staff of international organisations and people invited by international organisations whose physical presence is required for the well-functioning of these organisations, military personnel and humanitarian aid workers and civil protection personnel in the exercise of their functions;
6. Passengers in transit;
7. Passengers travelling for imperative family reasons;
8. Seafarers;
9. Persons in need of international protection or for other humanitarian reasons;
10. Third-country nationals travelling for the purpose of study;
11. Highly qualified third-country workers if their employment is necessary from an economic perspective and the work cannot be postponed or performed abroad.

Thanx, for sure, on the photo, a lot of travellers in need of international protection, a lot of diplomats or seasonal workers in agriculture. Maybe a lot of health researchers...or third country nationals ! :roll: :roll: :lol: :lol:

You are right: such queues are unacceptable. Apparently the Border Police at Brussels Airport adapted their method to check if the passengers had registered their Passenger Locator From.

No chaos at Charleroi Airport indeed last weekend because they simply do not check the Passenger Locator Form there, as a reporter from De Morgen has noticed:

Medriocrity and negligence is the norm anywhere in belgium it seems.
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.

Belgium where only travelers who must (essential) travel can do so ... and on the photos of Charleroi or BRU we only see :

Healthcare professionals, health researchers, and elderly care professionals; frontier workers; seasonal workers in agriculture; transport personnel;
Diplomats, staff of international organisations and people invited by international organisations whose physical presence is required for the well-functioning of these organisations, military personnel and humanitarian aid workers and civil protection personnel in the exercise of their functions;

That's a lot of people and that explains the long queues at BRU and CRL. :mrgreen:
