Embraer announces the E175-E2 made its inaugural flight, thus kicking off a 24-month flight test campaign.

Embraer is looking to sell six E195-E2s to TAAG (Angola) for around US$250 million, as replacements for current aircraft within the fleet. Financing from BNDES (Brazil) is also being proposed.

After breaking up with Boeing, Embraer says that China and India could be potential new partners, following a report last week that said those two countries, as well as Russia, were interested in the planemaker’s commercial jets division.

Very 1st Embraer E2, in Africa. Delivery scheduled for September 2020.

https://twitter.com/flyairpeace/status/ ... 6150222849

We see more and more companies operating recent planes. When I say recent, I mean the latest generation. For the B737Max, I'm not talking about the reliability of the aircraft, but the fact that it is the latest version of the B737

Currently:

A220: Egytpair, Air Tanzania
Airbus A320 Neo family **: Egytpair, Air Seychelles, Air Cote d'Ivoire (on order), Tunsair (on order)
A330Neo: Senegal Airlines, RwandAir (awaiting delivery), Uganda Airlines (in final assembly), Air Mauritius
A350: Air Mauritius, Ethiopian Airlines,

ATR-42 / 72-600: Senegal Airlines, Precision Air, Air Madagascar, Tunisair Express, Royal Air Maroc

Boeing B737Max: Ethiopian Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, Comair, Mauritania Airlines, RwandAir (awaiting delivery), Arik Air (on order), Green Africa (on order), Air Peace (on order)
B787-8 / 9: Royal Air Maroc, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Air Tanzania, Arik Air (on order), Egyptair

Embraer E2: Air Peace (awaiting delivery), Congo Airways (on order)

** Senegal Airlines and RwandAir had shown interest in the A321Neo (LR or XLR version)

We will see what happens next. Airlines are going to reduce their fleets, probably delaying deliveries. But it will surely be the moment, to better manage the companies and finally to have an open sky policy, and that there be fewer restrictions for the movement of goods and men in Africa (this was the case before the covid19 crisis. ). And together, to be able to finally represent an alternative to foreign airlines (Europe and Asia).

80% of intercontinental traffic linking Africa to other continents is carried by foreign companies: https://www.theafricareport.com/16559/a ... le-routes/

It's not normal, that an Ugandan to go through Brussels, to go to Dakar, because in Africa, the trip is more expensive, longer and sometimes less reliable.
