In the latest news, Aigle Azur, 2nd French airline (founded in 1946), might the next airline to stop their operations.

- Airline filing for bankruptcy
- CEO fired, comes back and resigned
- Long haul stops to stop tonight
- Booking closed as from 10 Sept.
- Rescue plans have to be shown before 9 Sept.
- 1150 jobs at stake

After Aigle Azur, XL Airways.

XL Airways France suspended ticket sales as the carrier has been unable to find a buyer, amid financial difficulties. As a result, XL will apply for placement into receivership.

Air France and Groupe Dubreuil have withdrawn their joint bid for Aigle Azur after determining there was no economically viable plan.

EasyJet too has withdrawn from the bidding process for Aigle Azur.

XL Airways France CEO Laurent Magnin launched an appeal to raise the €35 million needed to continue operations.

XL Airways France has called on Air France to discuss that €35 million rescue deal to avert the collapse of the budget carrier (which halted ticket sales and payments last week).

Aigle Azur has eventually came to an end.

XL Airways stopped their operations already 2 hours ago (while last flight arrived ~3:30 ago)

TUI Fly Belgium takes over Aigle Azur's landing slots at Lille Airport.

XL Airways France received a new takeover bid, prompting the court to postpone the decision on the carrier’s future until 04 October 2019. Aigle Azur minority shareholder Gerard Hua submitted the bid with plans to use two of the four A330s and to take over half the staff.

A French court ruled on Oct. 4 that insolvent airline XL Airways should be liquidated, ending hopes that a last-minute takeover offer could save part of its operations, in the second casualty to hit the French air transport sector in a week.
