Airlines Ranking: delay & cancellation in Belgium & Europe

Post by Sai »

Flightright, specialist in passenger rights, has just released the 2018 report on delays and cancellations in Europe. It estimates the amount of compensation for passengers at 76 million (compared to 39 million in 2017) in Belgium.
Brussels Airlines achieves a good score in terms of canceled flights (only 0.2%), but it has a poor level of punctuality: 13% of Brussels Airlines aircraft are delayed or nearly double the amount of TUI fly with 6,6%.
One of the best students in compensating passengers is Brussels Airlines. The bad pupils are Ryanair and Vueling, who in most cases refuse a compensation.

Most punctual airlines in 2018:
1. Belavia (2,2% delayed flights)
2. Hainan Airlines (2,3%)
3. Ethiopian (2,7%)
4. Corendon (3,5%)
5. Air Moldova (3,6%)

Least punctual airlines in 2018:
1. Egyptair (49,3% delayed flights)
2. Tarom (37,7%)
3. El Al (31,2%)

Delay on start-up, or arrival time? How do they calculate?

That's an irrelevant question. The aim of their press release was not to publish interesting facts, but to get press coverage that would give them new customers.

Defend consumer rights? Well, those incasso firms could start with advising their correct charges. Example: for this company, it's not 25% but 30,25% (25% + 21% VAT).
