Except for MAN, because Ryanair flies from CRL.

There are many ex pats here in Belgium and many tourist cities such as Brughes and Ghent have loads of British tourists.
Why doesn't JET2.com, Easyjet or others offer a low cost link to Belgium?
Ryanair used to fly Ostend to Stansted. I never understood why they didn't fly to Manchester or Liverpool instead. The Channel Tunnel may have a lot to do with Britons not flying to Belgium more (and vice versa).

Of course, my company f.e. only uses Eurostar for UK trips. From London we take a domestic train or a taxi to our destination. Only if we have to be very close to a mostly rather cheap airport (f.e. MAN) we can consider to fly. A pitty from a personal point of view being aviation enthusiast.

Eurostar is not cheap and UK railcompanies are even more expensive.

As for flying to and from the UK, its not that far and can easily put in a schedule.

Absolutely true on both counts.

Somehow OO-SFC diverted to GVA according to FR24

was flying EBB-BRU as SN455 but then landed in Cairo, where it took off again and landed in Geneva

And leave the Western flank of FRA undefended for OneWorld? I doubt it...

Hi,

Maybe not bad , haha when bought by BA and not reduced to Level Belgium or Vueling...
A strong OW Base in BRU :)
With CX,the retour of AA...
Guess we can expect a lot of B737Max haha

But why should they ?
They have now an African stronghold which they Lack..
And SN was dirtcheap !!!
Even now making that less loss compaired with EW...

Guess no selling, too small to make a big issue out of it, too cheap for leaving all those pax to OW/ST ...
One what will they gain for it... Some peanuts !

Guess LH is here to stay !

CXB

CXB
New types flown 2022.. A339

You are correct. Air Belgium is going to buy Brussels Airlines. NT has realized a much better financial result for 2018 than CS. Airbus will finance the whole operation (Air Belgium knows how to make financial deals with Airbus).

(typo adjusted then -> than)

Just to be sure...
:ugeek:
Indeed: stupid typo, I'm so sorry. Reason: I'm surprised that almost no one here reacts to the catastrophic result from Air Belgium, whilst so many people tell us how Brussels Airlines and/or Lufthansa should be run.

This is indeed a thread on Brussels Airlines, not on Air Belgium.

Maybe Because not everyone is clapping their hands everytime bad news about AB comes out and want this project to succeed. Not everyone has a feud with every airline who doesn’t have an orange B on its tail like yourself.

Interview with Christina Foerster in the “De Tijd”:
Figures at SN are not good and LH won’t be pumping money in SN for ever.

I did not read anything about bad numbers ... I mostly learned that she had a little black dress in her office and that the Belgians were more nuanced than the Germans .., apart from that few revelations!

Interesting. I think Christina will look at the remuneration of the pilots.

The idea of the black dress comes from Carsten Spohr himself. The worst expectation for an airline manager is a fatal crash. Therefore, Spohr keeps a black tie in his office, just in case this would happen.

This weekend, Christina Foerster also gave an interview to La Libre Belgique, in which she confesses that she is a fan of Lady Gaga.

A few more interviews, and we will know everything about her! :)

Here you go:

We are at at crucial moment for SN. During, almost, our entire existence we spent more money than we earned. This is still the case. Just surviving is not good enough. In the past Lufhthansa always helped us. This is not going to be the case forever. I am surprised it lasted this long already.

But, IMHO, they must assume the bad decision with EW
