Air Serbia reports October 2019 passengers up 13.3% to 212,314, with Load Factor out of Belgrade up 3 points to 75%.

Why do I mention something that we never report here? Because I was one of those passengers, having flown Tirana-Belgrade-Brussels in business class, and I was positively impressed by that airline which belongs at 49% to Etihad.

IAG aims to shrink the number of airline brands it has in Spain, following another acquisition of a carrier in the country. Iberia, Iberia Express, Vueling, Level, Air Europa: way too many!

I wonder if the European Commission (anti-trust) will accept this merger/take over.
And here we go already: Ryanair will be looking for the competition authorities to require some divestments from Air Europa, particularly in short-haul presence on Spanish domestic routes and European short-haul.

Of no interest to Ryanair, but there is also an overlap with Iberia in routes from Spain to America, particularly South America!

Air Sénégal ordered 8 A220-300's during the Dubai 1ir Show. It seems that for so far, Airbus is the big winner of the DAS, with 120 A320NF for Air Arabia and 50 A350 for Emirates and some other smaller orders.

Looks like it, indeed! The A220 seems to be really good compared to the E2. Although one airline in Belgium thinks the E2 is a better product, but I fail to see why honestly... any specialist in the E2/A220 battle around here? :)
I also think the company you referring to fly with Boeing's and Boeing is working closely with Embraer and it will be almost the same relation between Embraer and Boeing than Bombardier and Airbus in the future there is the explanation in my opinion.

The fact that Embraer is kind of Boeing is not relevant here.
So you ask why one airline in Belgium thinks the E2 is a better product, lumumba answers with arguments specifically to that one airline, and then his answer isn't relevant? :?:
No matter which aircraft is the better product, often there's a broader scope to make it the better choice or better package for an airline...

No. I am wondering why the E2/A220 "battle" is currently way in favor of the A220 in general. That question was not specific to that airline. And that's why I tried to make my question more clear in an answer to lumumba's intervention... better now?
But this are your words:

Although one airline in Belgium thinks the E2 is a better product, but I fail to see why honestly...

You can understand that it was not very clear!

it seems that KLM has made the same reasoning in my opinion.

Indeed, KLM ordered 21 new E195-E2 aircraft, with an option for 14 more. But that leaves Embraer far behind the A220.

to start, no specialist at all, here...

The answer really depends on how many "if's" apply to your situation:
* if (re)starting from scratch as an operator, A220 might be the more modern, 'better' plane
* if you are a current Airbus (only) airline -> A220
* if you are a current E17*/9* operator -> E2:
- existing logistics/working relation with Embraer
- minimal crew conversion training costs (pilots 2,5days - no full flight sim required)
- a (limited) degree of commonality between the E-family reduces somewhat the spare parts requirements
* if looking for the higher end seating capacity -> A220
* if looking for the lower end seating -> E2 (for the really lower capacity wait 2 yrs. for the E175E2)
* if wanting to maximising the pax/cabin crew ratio -> E2
* if looking for an efficient replacement for your A319 -> A220
* if looking for max. range -> A220 (although it seems Embraer is 'downplaying' the real E2 range)
* if aiming for LCY, Toronto's City, or similar short runway, steep approaches -> A220-100
* if you have no strong commercial bargaining position: E2 should be the cheaper option
* wanting to take my preference into account -> E2: I prefer the 2+2 seating :-)

Bottom line: academic discussion, look what fits best for your operations. So, one airline in Belgium knows the E2 is the better product for them. :D
My 'Future' scale: CS100/300: mediocre / A220: bright / Embraer E-family: good / Boeing-Embraer: better

Vietnam bans the import of leased aircraft of more than 10 years old from entering the country, effective 01 January 2020. Aircraft currently on lease cannot be more than 20 years old by lease expiry. Cargo aircraft shall not exceed 15 years old at time of import, and 25 years by lease end.

Can a similar regulation be implemented in Belgium? It would be a blow for one well-known airline!

Isn't that a stupid regulation?

States have sovereignty over their territory and the airspace above it. They could impose such rules, probably for safety or environmental reasons
