Wizz Air to re-launch Ukrainian subsidiary in 2019

Provided that all official authorizations and permit will be received in time, Wizz Air plans to re-launch Wizz Air Ukraine, that was closed downdue to the instability of the political and economic situation in Ukraine in 2015.

A re-launch was deemed profitable by Wizz Air CEO József Váradi as he stated that there is a quickly growing demand for LCC flights in Ukraine and could also positively influence the already growing tourism sector. The plans include an investition of USD 2.5 billion over five years to build up a fleet of up to 20 aircraft (both A320 and A321) that would be based on Ukrainian airports.

The plans are likely to counter the move of rival Ryanair that is currently heavily targeting the growing Ukraininan market.

Wizz Air to enhance train pilots and cabin crew training by 2019

With the inauguration of the new crew training center today in Budapest, Wizz Air expects to train their personnel more efficiently. The new center was built at a cost of 30m EUR and consists of two full flight simulators and one static one. Cabin crew can train on a A320-mockup fuselage while the container to train fire on board is four times the size of the former one.

The airline estimates that nearly 300 pilots and cabin crew can be trained in the facility which will be used 24 hours a day.
