If mr Mogunsen has 40M himself to invest, he should have invested that into WOW Air 1.0. Mabe it wasn't enough to save the airline, but at least he would have avoided a few Thousand stranded passengers.

I personally think he's too crazy to do so, WOW air 2.0 can be VLM Airlines 2.0, so nearly 1 year of ops and then finally second demise.

WOW air to be resurrected by US businesswoman Michele Ballarin, after her company USAerospace Associates purchased the flight operation assets of the bankrupt airline. USAerospace will own 49% of the revived airline, which is backed by US$85-100 million in capital. The fleet will initially consist of three A321neos, increasing to 10-12 Neos within 24 months. Ballarin also plans to brings two freighters to Iceland, but not under WOW.

False alarm!

WOW Air liquidator says the agreement to sell the carrier’s assets to Michele Ballarin and her company Oasis Aviation Group (US) has been cancelled and may be renegotiated. Other parties are interested and talks are in progress.

WAB air is now officially in the beginning stages of establishing operations, with hiring having already commenced. The startup is seeking to raise €30 million from Icelandic banks and afterwards the plan is to head to Switzerland to close the financing. First flight planned for autumn 2019.

WOW Air bankruptcy and its aftermath

Post by TLspotting »

Play :
Hi there!

As a new airline on the market, we are very thankful for the great reception.

We at PLAY cannot wait to open our website and start selling tickets as well as flying you around the world!

As we are a startup company, things can sometimes take a little longer than planned as there are many tasks to finalize. Our original plan was to start selling tickets in November, but unfortunately, we have to delay that by a little longer.

Don’t worry, we are working hard on starting our sales as soon as possible and cannot wait to share our plans with you.

Again, thank you for the great reception and for showing us patience.

See you onboard!

Play is now proposing a 70% stake instead for equity contribution for investors, as employees go unpaid for November 2019. A revised start date has not been communicated.

Not a good start, if you ask me!

We should say that WOW air and PLAY are 2 different airlines, claimed as "successor of WOW air"

The WOW air saga, next episode: WOW Air now plans to become a cargo airline based in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

I have my doubts...

... and Play plans to build an all-A320 fleet by taking advantage of today’s favourable lease terms. The first flight is now planned for October 2020, with 15 aircraft expected by summer 2021. The carrier aims to raise US$150-200 million through the sale of new shares.

For both ventures, I have my doubts...
