Sure. But they are planning on launching flights to the US, right? So this creates more competition

if I understand correctly it will only be ACMI flights to the USA!

Primera has a long history of deceiving its customers (e.g. by cancelling all the transatlantic flights from BHX at short notice). This is not going to change any time soon.

The Primera Air website assures passengers who buy tickets from Stansted to Newark next week that their planes will not refuel along the way. Airlineroute tweeted that the long-range Airbus A321 normally used from Stansted to Newark is to be replaced all next week by a 737. But the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a range of under 3,000 miles, will touch down at Keflavik in Iceland to replenish the tanks.

The stop adds around 300 miles. The journey time is shown as increasing by 90 minutes from the current nonstop trip taking eight hours and 25 minutes. But with the extra distance flown and time spent on the ground, the en-route stop could extend the flight time by two hours.

The eastbound service is still scheduled to operate nonstop, with the jet stream in the aircraft’s favour.

Just to show you how cheap a flight to NYC can be with a regular airline incl. food and luggage, 192€ return from Brussels!
https://www.fly4free.com/flight-deals/e ... paign=push
Direct flights are often around 250/300€.
So I don't see the point here...

If you want to take more than a day to travel. 28h+ of traveltime to get there is a bit long. ;)
But I admit, I would rather take a regular airline with a widebody instead of taking Primera with a 737.

For the BRU-NYC return fare at EUR 192, you forget that on the way to NYC, you will either have to spend 17h35min inside the airport terminal (where will you sleep during the night ?) or take a hotel for the night, which will cost you probably around EUR 80 without breakfast. In both cases, you will have to add the price of drinks provided you bring your own sandwished from home for the 17h35min lay over.

OK, this was the cheapest offer. There are others wich don't imply a long transit time.

However, the one thing which makes me happy is that Primera Air will offer a late afternoon flight to IAD and evening flights to BOS and EWR.
I can't be more agree.
Hasta la victoria siempre.

Primera Air intends to start new B737 MAX 9 service from Frankfurt to New York JFK, Boston and Toronto from June 2019.

This looks to me like uncontrolled growth.

Primera all over the place: "Another great addition to our route map 🗺️ - next summer we will be starting direct flights from Madrid to New York, Boston and Toronto!"

Launching all those new routes simultaneously? I predict havoc and chaos.

At least one Primera Air Scandinavia Airbus A321 (OY-PAF) was impounded at Stansted Airport for unpaid airport charges.
