Nope, Lufthansa is already wet-leasing 2 A220's from Air Baltic.
Air Baltic is in the ACMI business and would have been more 'cost effective'. But they don't have A220's available for ACMI at the moment.
The A220-100 would have been perfect out of ANR (Air Baltic has only -300's... a lot of seats to fill!)

If you know that TUIFly's E190 out of ANR are already weight restricted as from Malaga (~1800km), Arkia's E190/5 (E1) aren't a commercially viable option for the ~3300km to TLV.

you should have added 'hallucinations' to your options list

I mentioned Lufthansa/Swiss as they're in Swiss colors now, but might be moved around in the Lufthansa-family. Nevertheless it would be a weird move of that Lufthansa-family to compete with SN who's flying from BRU.

Doesn't commercial viability depend on the price? As the ANR-TLV-market wouldn't be for leisure, the prices might be higher?
Arkia indeed has E190/5 (E1), but also E2 on order (https://www.aviation24.be/air-shows/far ... 5-e2-jets/). Those are E195 E2's (just like KLM), so not ideal for ANR-operations...

But please feel free to add other options: ANR-TLV is quite a stretch anyway... Maybe it's an Antwerp - Geneva/Zurich - Tel Aviv route?

I think that the operator of these flights will make sure they can offer a direct flight to TLV, and for the cheapest possible fare. There is a lot of competition from Brussels (3-4 daily flights by SN and LY), Eindhoven (3 weekly flights by HV), Cologne (1 weekly flights by Corendon) and especially from Amsterdam (up to 6 daily flights by Easyjet, Arkia, KLM and El Al). One of the daily flights to AMS is even operated with B777.
Add to that the very easy train connections to AMS and BRU, and the fact that Cologne and Eindhoven are very easy to reach by car

Although the high demand, from both business and VFR (Antwerp has a large juwish community, especially Hasidic Jews.I don't think there soon will be flights to TLV. But one can only hope for the best...

Don't think VFR - think diamond trade. I've always said this and I still cling to it: this airport does not stand a chance as "just another airport", it is indeed too near the big ones that are very well connected by rail and road. Only as a specialised business airport can it have an effective role. Just like ANR-LCY aims at business clientele - banking and diamond trade - so could a route ANR-TLV. Whether demand is sufficient is the big question of course, I have no idea. But low-cost offerings can never work, a bigger plane will always offer cheaper seats.

BTW are you sure about Antwerp's "biggest in the world" Jewish (sic!) colony? I always heard there's more Jewish people in Brussels than in Antwerp, only Antwerp has a high percentage of the very visible "Chassidim".

Hey I would not call it a colony but you are right about numbers there are 3 city's in the world with Hasidic Jews community's and that is Jerusalem, New York and Antwerp that's why Antwerp is wrongly considered with a big Jewish community.
It is for Hasidic Jews, considering that they are not all Zionist (so not especially turn to Israel) because they still wait for the messiah to come and give there beloved land,I'm not sure it's a big market anyway!

I'm not really sure. I heard it from a friend of mine who has close ties with all kinds of communities in Antwerp. He might have had it about the HasidicJews. I've changed it.

OO-JAS / TUI 737-7 is flying from and to Antwerp today. It might be the first time that a 737 of TUI operates from that airport.

And a long time since last Boeing 737 arrived at Antwerp!

I fondly rmember the twice-daily Sabena flights between ANR and LHR by Boeing 732. I even remember having flown on one of them: on Friday nights the aircraft was flying back to BRU and I flew LHR-ANR-BRU. On the last leg I was the only passenger :)

I'm curious to know if a MAX 8 fits on Antwerp runway.

Hehe, I have a vague memory of a similar experience on a DAT FH227. Also as the only passenger.

That depends on the load & balance calculations - it seems impossible with a full load of pax and fuel. In fact I remember talking to the chap who did those calculations for the above mentioned B732 flights, he told me that was already a lot of compromising, at times.
