Very cool video of what looks like a very impressive airport. I wonder why the L runways are so close to the R runways but I guess they know what they're doing
With Turkish Airlines alone operating like 330 airplanes and having like 220 on order and another 60+ airlines operating into IST no doubt that will become a very busy place...

... if they don't go bust first ... But I feel the government will not allow that. Excuse me for touching on politics, but perhaps one day the Turkish government will be happy to be left out of the European union - no qualms about state support like in Italy...

I know, the world hass become too pretentious, I have started hating luxury brands as a result and shun them.

They don’t need it, and they probably aren’t paying a cent for it. Just like in Bologna, where the follow-me car is a Lamborghini Hurucan, this is more than likely a sponsorship deal by BMW to get some brand exposure.
They would be rather foolish to refuse.

Istanbul New Airport has built its own aviation fuel terminal near to the airport on Black Sea coast. Yesterday they have conducted the first test of offloading fuel from a 63 tonne ship with success. With this terminal, they aim to take 2250 oil tankers off from roads and receive the aviation fuel directly from the ship through their terminal and store them at the airport.

Just over a month left for the New Istanbul Airport to be opened. Today, they are organizing "Teknofest Festival" at the new airport. Some pictures from the festival. The ATC tower design is impressive.
