Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
United has announced that it would use new Boeing 787-10 from Newark to six European destinations from 31 March 2019. The 6 destinations have not been disclosed yet. Could Brussels be one of them?

BRU would be one of them indeed. We are already preparing to receive them.
BRU, FRA, MUC are with the first ones. The others I don’t remember
Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
What does that mean capacity-wise (they fly the B772 now)?

Vs the 772, I don't know, but UA says the 787-10 flies 99 more passengers than the 787-8.

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
I already mentioned in another topic that UA will have one of its three daily flights operated by a 787 as from March 31st 2019.
Since the first new 78J will be based in EWR, my two cents go to the BRU-EWR route.

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
the 772 are in 8/40/221 = 269 pax
the B788 are in 36/183 = 219 pax
B787-10 = B788 + 99 pax = 318 pax for the B787-10
This means a capacity increase of 49 pax
Edit: perfectly matching with Kapitein's post!

UA doesn't have 787's yet at EWR, + a new plane type means different loading, pax/cargo and cateringConti764 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2018, 14:08Just out of curiosity… What is to be prepared to receive the Boeing 787-10? Since BRU is already receiving B787's...?

We need to have the correct stoppoint at the stand, because we won't want to have the tail over the servicedrive or over the manouvringarea. Neither we want to have the engine into the boardingbridge.Conti764 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2018, 14:08Just out of curiosity… What is to be prepared to receive the Boeing 787-10? So for every new type of aircraft we have to specify it for every stand where that type can be placed.
The other thing is the VDGS-system that needs to be updated to the correct stoppoint as written above.
For runways and taxiway there isn't a problem, here it is more a stand issue what I meant by the preparing.
Same thing when 9W started ops with the 77W, a lot of things needed to be changed at the stands to be able to receive that aircraft. We had to create new stoppoints even more towards the building so that it was in the box and not above the manouvringarea.
