It seems that Paris-Marrakech was the last leg for Oo-ABA with passengers. Return flight out of Marrakech flew not to Orly but to Charleroi:

Not only Air Belgium:
Alex Macheras @AlexInAir

Latest: Airspace Row:

• Norwegian Air UK’s plans to increase flights between UK and Asia are being prevented by the ongoing political spat between UK and Russia.

• Russia is refusing the UK airline permission to fly across its airspace, including over the Siberian corridor.

Russian press agency Ria Novosti (Sputnik) is not very optimistic about the future of Air Belgium. Its title tells it all:

"New Belgian Airline Going Belly-Up Without Flights Permission Over Russia"

The sanctions against Russia are considered as the main reason for not granting overflight rights.

Sputnik also mentions as problems the too short runway in CRL and the under-capitalisation of the company.

Time the EU steps in, me thinks.
No new routes for Russian carriers through EU airspace, no traffic rights for football charters to the worldcup this Summer.

Declare war to Russia because a Belgian startup airline obviously underestimated the paperwork that had to be done?

LOL

So lets recap... They've had 1-2 years to prepare everything at least but failed to get the Russia rights... I wonder when they applied for them....

A few days before the inaugural they announce we can't start because no Russia rights and we sold very few tickets...

And now as if this was not embarrassing enough they do the exact same thing by planning service in 1 month again with no guarantee that those Russia rights will be given and no clue how many tickets they will sell...

I saw that too, but I saw no link to aviation. Whilst the first one is the representative in China for Ural Airlines.

Indeed, flights sold out !

But flights in April for a return on the same plane were at €1538...
Just compared now, only €448.42 for 3 to 4 June...

Until 1 July, they keep the same frequency...

All cancelled flights between now and 2nd June are also shown as Sold Out, whilst they should be marked as "There are no flights on the selected date".

Sputnik, like Russia Today, reflects "his master's voice", the Kremlin. This article in Forbes tells a lot about the disinformation that Russian authorities can instil in the world:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/martinrive ... ium-delay/

Some excerpts:

Given Sputnik’s track-record for falsifying stories, its report about Air Belgium may simply be an opportunistic taunt devoid of factual basis.

Whatever the true circumstances, Moscow has used overflight rights as a political and commercial bargaining chip in the past.
