Air Belgium is parked at CRL today.

Seems that the bird is used for training purposes.

Good news for Air Belgium: their sponsor seems to have unlimited funds:
http://pagtour.info/charleroi-airport-i ... courriers/

To avoid comments that the taxpayers' money is "invested" for just one airline, Cloquet ends with "...Nous avons des contacts prometteurs avec trois compagnies long courrier qui, si elles le décidaient, pourraient très rapidement opérer au départ de notre aéroport..."

a lot of wishful thinking in that sentence though.
Emirates could also come and use CRL as a hub to south america. I wonder why they didn't think about that

A lot of other airlines could easily come to CRL.
Mode Sarcsam on (like you) : SN, Emirates, ....
Mode sarcasm off : Air transat, Vueling, norvegian, wow air.....

SN is actually a very good candidate.
yeah of course more will come, but stating 3 chineese airlines will start next week is very ... wishful thinking ;)
(and not so great for AB)

SN a very good candidate?  Come on...
If not SN, why not EW? (Or EW operated by SN?)

Tomorrow will be finally the first flight of Air Belgium!
Just checked the Hong Kong airport site and it seems like their timetable isn't updated yet with the arrivals of Air Belgium.

It seems like Air Belgium will be using 2 diffirent Plaza lounges of HKA

AF 977 operated by KF was cancelled last night . ABA is still at Libreville.

With only one plane to operate to HKG, they have no alternative in case of problems with the ABB.

Bad news indeed. Does anyone know the reason? ABA was already the aircraft whose engine had to be replaced....

The forward booking figure for the whole month of May (before they decided to cancel the flights/bookings due to the problem with Russian authorities) was: 60 passengers !!! :o

No wonders why they were not in a hurry to clear that hurdle...

This figure comes from L'Echo, not from me...

Tonights AF-977 from CDG Paris to LBV Libreville (ETD 22h30) is announced as cancelled on AF's website.

VRT states: "De allereerste eigen lijnvlucht is allerminst uitverkocht, maar ze wordt door de maatschappij beschouwd als een "technische vlucht" om alle procedures te controleren en de laatste puntjes op de i te zetten."

So the first flight is not even close to beïng full ... :(

The very first revenue flight under their own label is not sold out at all, but the airline considers it a "technical flight" to check/validate all procedures, and to straighten out the last details.

(non-professional unguaranteed translation service :) )

And, if not carrying the full revenue load, the plane can do with less fuel, so two points of relief regarding runway length... :)

Hi

On another subject, Indi Go is a likely candidate to fly to CRL with A330 in the near future!
